it's pretty shitty for anyone that wants to make and sell short games on steam, especially with pc master race fedora types' crusade against "walking simulators" art games etc. i think it's well-intentioned, but like most things valve has done recently, it's a little half-baked.

I don't think art-game haters will benefit from this. If anything, it'll give them a reason to actually play the games they hate whereas now they just whine about them without playing them. |

Small mobile-esque games put on steam/greenlight have been hated. But I wonder if they will get widely accepted when more of them are released.

Have you seen these videos?
They're not on disc or anything but they're two developers going through all the ps2 R&C games with commentary. Really interesting stuff.
Just wanted to mention that I've been watching these and they're super cool. Even if you've never played these games they're worthwhile because there's a lot of great commentary on design theory, and the game was early enough in the dev's careers that they can reflect on their choices and state how what they've learned after doing 2-3 sequels. |
