If we need to be careful when criticizing Islam, it's because racist shitheads love to interpret any criticism against Islam as a validation of their generalized hatred against all Muslims. If it wasn't for racist, xenophobic asshats I would happily be as critical of Islam as of any other religion/ideology that's against truth and individual rights. The thing with racist is that they study the rhetorics rather than the argument, so they end up with weird syllogism that facts contradicts, but bring the fact and they jump to another syllogism right away. It's hit and run. By making the discussion opaque they can go "see you are making excuse" and since you can't be exhaustive to keep the information bandwidth low they attack that too by cherry picking example and accusing us pre emptively to do the same to create a childish position in their favor "no it's you who do that". It's all about destroying the messenger and therefore the message than actual argument, it's posture rhetorics.
Because when the discussion is opaque and confusing, people resort to guts and emotion instead of consideration, which they then dub as "humane" so they can justify what they do as "right" and dehumanize the problem they are attacking.
