Space Captain McCallery Ep. 1: Crash Landing



Space Captain McCallery is a Sci-Fi Action-Adventure game where you play as a Space Pirate Captain who's crew has mutinied and left him stranded on an alien world.  It's also a reboot of a series I started years ago.

Playing as Captain McCallery, you will have to survive on this hostile world, fight alien monsters, and find a way to get back to space.

Made rocks that you can pick up and throw.  The game has limited ammo, so this is a nice way to conserve ammunition.

I've been working on a number of things for the game.

Firstly, I've been working on the item system.  The Captain will have to scrounge for edible plants in order to survive on this alien world.  In addition to recharging his energy, the plants can have a variety of effects.  Anyone familiar with the old Space Captain McCallery/Tales of the Renegade Sector will remember that one of the possible side-effects are hallucinations.



I want to take the hallucination effects a lot further than in the old games, and I've made about a page-long list of ideas.

I've also been working on fleshing out the environment of the caves, adding plant-growth and rocks.

Working on the temple environment.

I had to rework my workflow more than you might expect to efficiently make hexagonal rooms, but I'm pretty happy with the results.
