So tonight some of us are having a semi-drunk convo on skype. It's pretty cool.
We're thinking of holding this like every week or something, maybe have it centre around a few topics. We can only have 10 people at once, but maybe that'll change if we make it a skypecast.
So,
What day is best for people?
What topics?

Someone suggested that we record these convos if they're any good, and make it a podcast.

Cool idea. Unfortunately work + sounding like a circus midget = no go for me. Hence IRC absence Cry

Meanwhile, you've finally signed up to the forums! \o/

I'd participate in the Skypeness, but I'd have nothing important to say apart from "lol".

Sounds like an interesting idea.. but I'm not the most forthcoming guy when it comes to voice chat though.

When I interviewed Pixeljam they wanted to do it over Skype and I was nervous as hell about it. My computer was screwed at the time anyways, so all I could eventually manage was e-mail. Was both relieved and dissapointed at the same time.

More like totally wasted, some of us were.  We gotta do this more often.  :D

You should get up in the mix, Fish!  There were accents aplenty, don't worry.  Wink

Cool idea. I'll try to attend someday. But erm... if you can't get more than ten people, then why not use anything like Ventrillo or TeamSpeak? Those are good for team convos. Semi-, demi- or totally drunk Wink.

It was fun just listening. Now I just need a better mic. Did Dan Macdonald ever come back?

We definitely need to do that again.  The suggestion of doing a theme and focused discussion (plus recording/posting) is a great idea.

Yeah, it was awesome.

I so want to hear you sing now, fish. And your magic accents.

What themes do you folks want to do?

one thing i want to talk about is: the future of indie games

lemme elaborate

when the games industry was in its infancy the pioneers were all individuals or small teams creating focus new original games. now it seems like with more and more game making tools becoming available and easier to use, and with portals like steam, xbla, psn etc and the growing indie community (like this forum!) we're seeing the small pioneering team reemerge as a viable way to make games.

i'm curious how far indies can go if they continue to build up success and work together, if the quality and scope of indie games continue to increase.

If I could participate these conversations, I would definetly be bombing phil with loads of questions about fez. Too bad I don't have a mic.
