No the original demo was never finished. We've done a bunch of smaller games since then and one commercial game. I've just started development of a Valdis Story reboot a couple months ago.
Cool, really looking forward to that!

Sometimes enemies blending with the environs can be cool, like in the first level of Cave Story. As long as they are not insta-kill.

I guess it's fine. The bees look nice and seem to fit the atmosphere. If the level consistently has this level of busyness (not too busy), then it should be fine.

I just thought that it would be hectic if the level got a bit more busy as the player progressed through it.

Another thing I was wondering about were the pillars. The bees seem to be flying through them. It's tough to tell the difference between the background and the foreground. (Unless I'm just mistaken and your bees can fly through all platforms)

I'm not sure if I will make this game, if people are interested though I probably would Smiley The main idea would be to let the hero descend into a cave, having to beat all the bad guys on the screen before he can descend more, whilst scoring as many point as you can by collecting all kinds of riches. The cave isn't a normal cave, it has different areas, like the Haunted theme which I'm about to show. I'm not sure how to let the player kill bad guys, I can't think of a good suitable weapon. I would like to have upgrades or other items that change your weapon in the game.

I think Alex2 looks better, but Alex1 could probably do more zany moves in that suit? Zand is adorable :D

I remember playing Valdis Story like... Back in 2007? I dunno, whenever it was first released. I loved it, though! Just like Imp, I instantly recognized it when I saw it.

Your art skills have improved excellently in the time it's been.  Grin
Any intention of doing a complete game this time?

I think the darker colored outfit for Alex works better. It's less distracting to the eye. That said, a dark colored dress would, of course, work as well.

i guess a robe suits better a witch... unless it's some sort of WEIRD WITCH in that case it would be nice any way

I'm leaning towards Alex 1 because I feel like the animated flailing of the cape would stand out a little better against a body silhouette rather then the robe. Also Zand is adorable.
