I'm getting Metroid II vibes.
That's a good thing, IMHO.

Make sure you don't discuss any of your ideas for part 2 with asset creators. that's explicitly stated in the rules. Just a heads up.

I'm thinking of creating a thread for people to make general asset requests, without targetting any one artist.

90s powered-by-screensavers beigebeast: I hope this is what you need. two tiles high for a desk is maybe a little awkward, but i don't think i could fit details otherwise.

Looking good!
This compo is turning awesome frighteningly fast.
The awesomeness singularity is coming. It threatened in previous compos, but this may be it.
Then the universe will explode. And it will be AWESOME.

I, for one, feel priveliged to be surfing this wave of awesomeness in such fine company. These tilesets are great. I love that top-down blue dungeon one in particular. As a competing artist, though, I have to register my slight envy at your ability to create such cool stuff with so few pixels. (note to self: lower resolution).

it might just be the case that the awesomewaves which the explosion creates reach such a frequency as that they will consume themselves over and over, resulting in an inductive feedback of awesomeness. thus the space-time-awesomeness continuum could be damaged and everybody would be thrown back in time to 0,14124E+09 BC, only 40 000x more awesome. cant wait.

I keep meaning to post a grayscale everything, but I need to know which is more useful: if i grayscale it using the same grays for each image (000000, 545454, a8a8a8, ffffff) wherever possible, or if i preserve the luma from the originals? should i do magic pink for transparancy as well? should i leave a line of transparent-colour pixels at the end for game maker?
