And most other things. Things with hard edges are ok, but i'm a novice. Shakin in mah boots just making a post here. (Accidentally clicked on mark all as read TWICE by accident).
Anywho, I need help pixeling my face for an avatar (sorry G-Man, maybe when Ep3 comes out) and am a hard time with it. The main problem is I don't know how to tackle this kind of problem (I'm a programmer by nature), for poles, weapons, I generally make an out line, fill in with a few simple colours, then add detail. But it' kinda doesn't work for this.

keep going.  colors.  go farther with it then we'll dissect it.  there's not really enough here to critique.  it looks like the beginning of something.  keep going!  it probably won't look good the 1st, 2nd, 5th, or 15th pass.  when you get to a stopping point, post it here and we'll pick it apart.  as for what i would say now, it looks fine for what it is.  which is a small pixel rendering of a photo of yourself.  it just looks like you did it in 5 minutes then gave up. you gotta put more time into it.

(my opinions at least)

Hm, I started adding colour but it wasn't looking right. At all. So I put up just the outline. (I'm partially colour blind so...:/)

Aww, sorry to hear that bro. I got an idea though. Try doing it in grayscale. Then later you could fill in the gray shades with colors with the help of someone else who can perceive them.
