I've always felt like making art is a side effect, rather than a goal, of creating something wonderful/inspiring/frightening/whatever.
I don't feel like it's for me to say that something I've made is a piece of art. It just feels irrelevant to me, because ultimately, art's in the eye of the beholder, so maybe the things I make are art if that's the consensus of society?
I'll just try my hardest to do good design, and if people call it art, or if they call it shlock, whatever. I'm not going to go around telling people to bow before my genius.
