I'm watching this project in the same way that I'd watch a guy who said he was going to jump his motorbike over the Atlantic Ocean.

Epic win or epic fail? Either way, it'll be epic! Beer!

Wow, I'm super pumped to see someone using Node.js . Have you used server side Javascript before?

Not in a serious project. Just some little test webapps. I also ported SpiderMonkey to the iphone and made some bindings for Cocos2d<->JavaScript. That was very promising. I loooooves me some JavaScript.

Good analogy. As long as I can get the bike in the air, I'll be happy.

Speaking of which -- I've fixed the bugs from earlier that were preventing people from connecting. Would love it people could try again : http://hubris.simple-syrup.info/

Ah. Nevermind. I can repro it in FireFox... I was only using Chrome while working on this. I see that I am doing something to embed the swf with FlashVars that's only working in Chrome and not in FF. I'll get it fixed. Ugh.

Awesome! Next phase is letting players pick names so they can snap up every possible variation of "Sephiroth" and "Vegeta".

I'm eagerly anticipating the addition of an interactive element to this!

I also want to commend you for making this browser based with no downloadable. The moment you introduce some content, I'm forseeing this generating a following.

Oryx, of course!

Latest screenshot. This build is live on http://hubris.simple-syrup.info now. If you're not seeing it, then try aggressively reloading the page. I need to figure out why the SWF is getting cached, argh.
