Excited to see more updates on this! Any chance for a playable demo sooner than later?

Thanks guys! Hopefully I'll have a video up soon of the full intro with song. As for a demo I'll probably just release the whole game as a demo, hopefully the whole thing should be done around the end of summer.

Thanks gang! As for gameplay previews: Today I added the full visual effects for when you reach maximum cactus power.

Ah yes the sound effects really bring it home. I'll be aiming for some nice 16-bit like sounds similar to a Capcom snes game.

I just noticed this... I REALLY like it, but feel like it gets lost in the final animation when you include the projectiles / smoke, etc. Would be nice if maybe like... he kinda shook with intensity when the "shock wave" going up his body finally reaches the top of his head, and THEN it explodes.... gives the player a chance to really get a sense of him charging up. Not sure how this fits into the gameplay, but if it was the kinda thing that players could hold onto for a moment... like mega man charging up his blaster... would be cool to see his head all big from charging up and shaking and maybe even growing redder and redder as the power builds up. Just some thoughts.

The song brought a little tear to my eye, nonsensical as it is
very very nice <3

If you want the blowing up animation to really show you might as well have him blow up into an even sphere a frame or two, what you have right now is too subtle to be easily seen

Yeah. What he said. I don't know if an entire sphere would be necessary, but definitely something a little more obvious.
