I want to make a game where wizards create spells and battle each other in an arena, does it matter if it's been done before?
Did u play that map for WC3? Can't remember it's name but it was really amazing. Didn't they make a standalone game out of it or something? Did they? A linkey pls I dunno dota maybe? I never played the wc3 map in question.

Really was a fun game, although it came out near the end of when WC3:FT's popularity. Here's a vid: Alternatively, you could be talking about Spellcraft, where you combined different elements to make spells.

I don't know how many other people played this, but I've always kinda wanted to make/see a sequel to a half-life 1 mod called "The Specialists"
I think people must see the whole matrix'y slow-mo bullet dodging and kung-fu as outdated, coz that type of game doesn't seem to get made any more

Had an idea today for a point and click game where you begin in a job interview, once you get the job you discover it is to become the next grim reaper. The rest of the game is taking on reaper task, picking up the dead, and hanging out by the water cooler on your break. All the while you are gathering money from your pay checks to help care for your very ill daughter who lives alone with you in a very run down apartment. Eventually one day at work, you receive a notice about the next soul you must gather, it is your daughter. The whole game style would also be very grim and appear like a commodore 64 game only with graphical errors and glitchy screen effects.

I've always wanted to make a kart racer, but I lack the experience with 3D assets to make it come true. D:

I still want to make a Terranigma-liky game. Mostly because a lot people in the western world don't know this game (but it's parent Soul Blazer). Also I like the type of game. It's much like Kingdom Hearts but in 2D.

This is what I was talking about, I mean Warlock. I'd love to see this as a popular game There were several dev (teams) trying to make a standalone game out of this, but nothing ever came even close to being finished. No idea why everyone stopped. I guess it wouldn't sell well and the community is too small. Bloodline Champions is a similar game in some aspects that also couldn't hold most players for more than a few weeks and is dying now.

I think the main problem is that PvP combat just doesn't really stand on it's own in this context. It ends up being a lot of circle of death type of strategy which is really boring and comes down to who doesn't turn fast enough. These games usually need something else going on to complement the PvP to keep it interesting.

I want to make a pixel game with one-button controls. It would be with a main character that, if running fast enough, can run through obstacles. I don't know how that would be challenging at all, though.

Basically every game idea I put in the Post Your Game Topic, no matter how stupid, ends up being a Game I'd like to make. To wit:
- Multiplayer deathmatch FPS, like Halo or Quake, where Lovecraftian insanity plays a major part
- A teenage Catwoman-style museum thief gains the ability to turn into a shadow, uses it to steal more stuff (and save the world)
- A news reporter finds himself in an abandoned Arctic research lab, controlled by a powerful thinking computer running on an obsolete 1980s model questioning the nature of humanity and its own place in a hi-tech world that has forgotten it
- Control wrestling bears to fight hordes of zombies RTS style

I don't know how that would be challenging at all, though. You could think of it as something like Canabalt except you're running through obstacles instead of jumping over them. You could make it so that you have to dodge certain obstacles and run through others.

I get asked alot if Trash TV is (totally isn't). I've always wanted to make an FPS with super deep gun customization. Things like putting in wider barrels to support shotgun rounds, etc. All guns would be made from two pistols, a Beretta style and revolver style. So if you made a sniper, the one from the revolver style would be bigger, stronger, bolt action. The other would be smaller, faster, clip based. MMO would really make it perfect. On youtube there's amazing clip of a Glock with a drum barrel mag and wire frame stock.

I would like to make run and gun where you could put gun upgrades on top of one another and get really super powerful weapons with quite a lot of variation!

Time Crisis clone, but 2d and with a different aesthetic. Lots of black with neon lines and plantlife mixed with technology. Like an overgrown facility in the middle of a sweltering jungle. Spooky corridor exploration (think Waxworks) before being ambushed by or engaging a group of enemies from cover, loads of simple but really satisfying animations, with a special focus on death animations, and a small variety of guns (maybe even a sword for when they get too close). Masked shock troops would be accompanied by the occasional tank-like mech that can walk and will scream or roar to intimidate the player. Environmental damage would include bullet holes, shredded plantlife, maybe even destruction of enemy cover like pillars with continued fire. The beginning of level 3 of Perfect Dark would be an inspiration, namely the night vision effect and music. I had a ton of notes for this but i lost them. Whatever, i mean if the ideas were good i will remember them.

I don't think you should just limit it to revolver or magazine style base. You could have handgun bases (magazine and revolver), ribbon fed machine gun bases, assault rife base, submachine gun base, shotgun base, etc. And then have add on pieces for barrels, more rifling for more accuracy, multi barrels, short barrels, spread barrels, long barrels, teleportation barrels, ya know go nuts.
