From yesterday's mock up. I should probably stop right now else people will get the idea that I'll be making it into an actual game. I have a tendency to drop games that I start on so prepare yourselves for disappointment.

Old Man Jenkins has a few words to speak with you. Still need to add some subtle animation in the forehead and chest so the rest of him doesn't look so static.

What is it about your style that always jumps out at me as being so significan, Caliber9? It's weird, I could tell from a mile away when I see one of your pieces, yet I have a hard time putting my finger on it. I think it has something to do with the way you colour, though.

ha, thanks Chevy! Im not quite sure what it could be either. My style has been changing a bit but i think ive been retaining something. I used to use a really muted palette, which i will probably return to for a later game. I also used to pixel very messy and ive recently been cleaning it up, but not as much as others do. So I dont know exactly what it is but Im glad to know I have a style haha.

Maybe that he doesn't use highlights, just shadows?

But some of his pixel work does use highlights, evident in his current game project. Also, I don't think that's something that would make his style stand out from so many other pixel artists to me.

Looking some more...
It looks like it is indeed his color choice. His colors remind me a lot of the 8-BIT NES colors, but with less saturation and a bit more value. That alone with his line style, which looks to be generally "jagged yet smooth".
I can't recall many other artists' who use any kind of similar combination in their pieces.

Awesome stuff, bones. I love the coloring so far, and the eye is much better now. Big revolver time.

As you make your way across the park, you stumble across a scruffy looking man. He asks you for some change...I'm hoping to have the homeless be shop-keeps in the game. You can trade in your coins for hobo items and what not. Also, the hobo box is still a work in progress.

Got inspired after seeing the Mario & Luigi: Bowser's Inside Story sprites, so I tried something in a similar style.

I thought the hood was some kind of wacky ponytail at first sight.
I love the style though. It looks like it'd animate really well.
