"I just can't stop thinking about Titters..."
:D I go with the default name most of the time. That, a spelling variation of my first name, or one of my online aliases.

I know it's boring but usually just the nicks I use on forums for the most part, either mosh, moshboy or slumlord. If I'm in a random mood, I'll put something random though.

Usually default, or if if none is present or I can't remember the official name given, I make one up. Use to use my name, now that only reserved for awesome characters.

The best was playing Final Fantasy Tactics with my Buddy Simon, man that made for some real weird conversations early in the game.

Radnom/Radina usually.
In FPS games at LANs or net cafes I used to use General Specific or Private Public.

In online games I usually go with Mr. Mr. And then without fail I always get one or two people who squawk it repeatedly over voice chat.

Usually just go with my own name, Riley, unless it's a girl, at which point I figure out what the associated gemstone is with the current month and name her that (So if it's January, then the name ends up being Garnet). I don't know what started me doing that.
However, if there are a bajillion characters I can name in the game, I go with the default names. I started doing this after Final Fantasy 7 when I gave all the characters various names, and then at one point I needed to use an online guide, and I had no idea who the hell they were talking about when they brought up specific characters. "Who the crap is Aeris?" I would say. "Is Red the dog thing?" I would wonder. Not making that mistake again.

I use defaults. When I need to choose I pick up random characters, like N. Edit: correcting spelling¬¬

A lot of the time I use Old Norse names like Sigurd or Kvasir. Sometimes I'll just come up with something off the top of my head like Uriendiel when I am playing a game like Morrowind or Oblivion. However, JRPGs are different because of their linear nature I want to feel like I am reading a story about a particular character so I opt with the default name.

I usually go for Ishi, or Kuri for female characters. And this is a great excuse to post this: Ishi and the rest of Rounding Error return. Rock Band 2 ftw.

I used to use my own name (Hayden, or Hayd), but in the last five years or so I have named my characters Dock. If the game is cute, or I'm playing a female character, I sometimes use the name 'Docky'.
I had a friend who played through all of Final Fantasy VII with Cloud named 'Fool', just so that Barrett's dialogue was very amusing.

I normally go for "kYn" with that exact capitalization but some games force the capitalization of the first letter without consent or warning and I end up with "KYn". It just makes me want to start all over again.

Sheep in the City! AWESOME! I use Isa Marche. Isa is a cool name; my son's name is actually going to be Isaac. It has always been one of my favorite names. Isa is just a more 'fantasy' style of it, I guess.

"Theta," "ThereminHero," "Organ_Hero," "Tsulonski," and "Trotsky," have all been used for games at some point. I try to switch it up a lot.
