Gameplay looks great!  Hope the kickstarter goes well!

One question though... Is there a reason all the characters have identical eyes and mouths in-game?  Your promo art has the characters looking more distinct.  The art is great otherwise but I think differentiating the characters facial features would improve things a bit.  There's a bit of an anime uncanny valley right now, but everything else looks awesome!

A few people have picked up on that. When we prototyped game play we originally used the same character, but as you noted the more recent artwork is more varied and characteristic as we've started on character development. As time goes on, we should have a fairly diverse set of characters.
