Croissant all screens can be seen here (um, spoiler alert). Concerned Nuns (or some other lame name like " Nuncerner"): Me (sounds, little programming), chrisjan (programming that mattered) and ptoing (awe-some pixels!) Made for the "Concerned Nuns Squad" jam (Day II). Unfortunately, we didn't manage to get the "Squad" part in. It's playable! If you have LÖVE (mac/lin/win) on your computer, get the .love file. If you don't want to get LÖVE, I created this Win32 exe in a zip (run nuns.exe). This version has been altered after the competition Rouge Bull Bombardment!On the first strawberry jam of the third day of BIG ("random" and/or "communist bull rage") , I programmed this and added sounds. C418 made a nice march for me! I used a freely available font and freely available sprites. Get the .love file, you can drag&drop it on the love.exe from the nuns.zip above or get LÖVE (mac/lin/win) to execute it.. A bit more details on it's homepage. Now I'm tinkering with it to make it actually worth executing.

Okay, I uploaded the Croissant game now, in it's raw form as it was presented at the jam just, well, working. Link is in the post with my other games.

It's exactly like Metal Gear Solid 4, only less excruciating! (I've been playing through MGS4 lately...) /edit - the way Dock moves about in this, is it based on the Blade Runner game? Hilarious.

Haven't played Blade Runner! I just told Dock to act like he'd been artificially inserted into the scene (the idle frames are like, my favourite thing about this)

I wish I would've actively participated in it instead of just silently cursing at it :D
But yeah, really good job guys. I was really wondering how you were going to make a game from these disjointed and bizarre scenes but you definitely pulled it off.

...hahaha, 'Infinite Idle Mode'. I just told Dock to act like he'd been artificially inserted into the scene Well, he acts just exactly like the characters from those games... exaggeratedly moving around to prove he's a video element and not a static sprite. This works as a very accurate and biting criticism of FMV games, but it still makes me feel nostalgic for them. They were all so bad, and yet so truly great. Zork: Nemesis (horrible, horrible acting) BladeRunner (awful arbitrary puzzles, horrible voice work, thirteen endings) Spycraft: The Great Game (pretty good actually, except for the stupid subtitle) I've still not played the 7th guest. I should see if GoG has it...

Two three hour prototypeish things: Nuns Go Ballistic, with music and sound by battlerager. Use A and Z to drive the submarine, and the mouse to fire. DownloadFast Noodle, for the Chinese fast food three hours on Monday -- I've worked on it some more since then. Left right and down keys to move and suck up noodles, mouse to re-arrange them with the chopsticks. Download

Oh, FMV-wise we were thinking more about Phantasmagoria, which had very stupid idle animations. But yeah, it's for classic FMV as the general theme. I hope to make another FMV, hopefully longer.

Yeah, I am sorry about that :D We stumbled in at 4.30 or so and started filming loudly while Don Andy and Rev Kachowski tried to sleep. That's Kachowski's hat we're wearing. You can see that the sun is coming up in some of those shots.

Sorry to Don Andy and Rev Kachowski! I also woke up Mr. Kachowski the following night XD;
I feel like I had a missed calling as an FMV star! I could have been a star on the CD32!
