Talent Needed: Pixel ArtistI'm working on my first game, an action RPG/arcade shooter game called Incoming that combines elements of Missle Command, Space Invaders and various Wave-based arcade shooters along with RPG upgrade elements and a story of a lone scientist stranded on an dark, alien planet. I created a mockup using some edited pre-existing images to show what im trying to accomplish visually. The game will have a dark tone, as the planet has no sunlight, enemies will be very scarcely lit, and will be revealed by lighting effects when explosions occur, or the user aquires floating flares they can fire into the sky to reveal enemies. I'll be creating the game and the music, and need a pixel artist that can help be accomplish what I want this game to present visually. Enemies will be grotesque aliens/ most that will fly down, but some that are also capable of ground level combat with the player. I will provide reference photos to any artist that wants more information. This is a Freeware project, and thus no one will gain financially from this product. However, cranking out a stellar product could open doors for us. Thanks ahead of time for reading and considering, and I hope to hear responses from you guys! Send me a Personal Message if you are interested! I really like your game idea, unfortunately I'm not a pixel artist otherwise I would gladly volunteer my services. I wish you the best of luck, good sir.

Hey guys - I'm currently working on a 2D platformer very similar to Super Metroid. The game is written in C++ and more specifically, Torquescript. The code portion is complete, but I have absolutely no art for anything in the game. Which is why I'm looking for an artist! Ideally, I'm looking for a college student in a similar situation that I'm in. I'm trying to build a portfolio so I have something to show when I graduate. This would be a 50/50 collab project, since I consider art to be 50 percent of the work. I would need tilemaps, animated sprites, backgrounds, particles, and a few other assets. The art style is entirely up to you, as long as it follows the game's design. I started this project in June and have had 3 artists flake out on me without drawing a single tile. If anyone's interested, please contact me at my e-mail or leave a comment at my site: [email protected]www.pacethespacerace.comThanks!

So what are some o fthe games that have come from this thread? I'm so skeptical about collabs because - once bitten twice shy. You know what I mean? Right now I'm collabing witha guy I worked with for around 5 years. So I trust his skill - plus he was the fastest programmer at the place I was at. I'm a pretty fast artist - so it works out.
Are you guys sharing success stories?

Anyone looking for a few pixels? Animated? Un-animated?
Would like to try some voice work too, I record and edit my own lines. Range from somewhat high-medium soft male voice to deep male voice. Also variety of personalities/inflections: Evil, good, silly, shy, sarcastic, serious, old, whatever. Can't do accents very well. Like to do silly side-kick characters, animal characters, or unusual characters, but wouldn't mind a main character.
I also do some music and own two professional hardware synths.
Pay preferred, but I'd be willing to do a trade or something.
Give me a PM, toodles!

Hello! I'm something of an ametur game maker using Game Maker. I'm looking for someone dedicated to create some fantabulously cute graphics, like Kirby or Yoshi's Island (both of which are adorably cute IMO). The devlog is here. I don't have money so I can't possibly pay for it to be paid. Sorry In summary: I'm looking for a person to do free graphic work (tilesets, backgrounds, sprites, the sort) for a cutesy game. PM me if interested. Please and thank you! I hope I don't sound conceited or anything >_>;

[Music]Hey guys, what I'm looking for is a game project which still needs some music. So far I've only worked on some few tracks in different genres, but I finally want to have a project, where I've got a direction to work on. If you need music, contact me please and I'll try the style and genre you want. Thanks

Hey everyone, I'm brand new to the forum, but I've been toying around with the idea of creating a game for quite some time, so I thought I would hop on here and see what help I can get. I'll tell you right now, I know little to nothing about programming or development. I'm willing to learn, but I was hoping to find a few people that have the know how to complete a project. Basically, I have the characters, control scheme, script and map for a game and would like to find someone - most likely multiple someones - to help make it. The general idea is for an 3D action oriented RPG with four main characters. The player assumes control of all of these characters and will control things like items, abilities and the leveling up of each one. Each character will have strengths/weaknesses/abilties that the others don't. Basic gameplay will be a somewhere in between Fable and Devil May Cry. I want it to be faster paced than Fable, but not as action packed as DMC, with the character you are playing wielding two weapons - generally a melee and a projectile. You control one character and will have the ability to switch back and forth, with each member of your party having a gambit system to tell them what to do when you are not controlling them. The general storyline is set in the future, and revolves around a team from earth sent to monitor and eventually make contact with an alien race. Their ship is attacked however, and four crew members manage to escape and make their way to the planet below. Gameplay begins with the four characters separated on very different sections of the world map, and you must play each one individually - with the ability to switch between the four - until you are able to form the entire party. Of course with the story - which I won't get into much detail here - there are many different paths you can take, leading to many different combinations of parties, including playable characters who are not part of the four. I know it's a lot to cram into a few paragraphs, but if you are interested in helping or want more specific info, let me know.

Heya folks, I'm looking for someone to do some low-res background art. Mostly I just need some mock-ups, so if someone just wants to help a guy out that's cool. Though it'd be lovely to have someone climb aboard for the whole project! We've got a lot of design and some early coding on the engine; we're making an adventure game that looks a lot more like a platformer.
I have a recruitment video over here:
Send me a PM if you're interested!

Looking for a coderFlash game. Fairly simple but I'm an awful coder. Game is about a planet surrounded by thirteen moons. Story-driven. Each of the moons begin to fall down thanks to a God who... play with them. Player has to push each of the falling moons back to its place (beyond the planet's atmosphere). When last of the moons fall player loses, or rather wins as he uncover the ending of the story. Player starts with some amount of points (100k pts, for example) and they decrease in time while he keeps pushing the moons away. At some point it is possible that points will get below zero. The higher minus score, the better. I have prepared intro (animated), some early graphics and animation, ending story and music (that I actually work on right now). Would be great to finish it in just a couple of weeks or so. Game explains the origins of Sadmoons world. Game is part of Sadmoons series. http://sadmoons.comIf you would like to do it for fun / to learn something / to add something to your portfolio (whatever you like) please drop me a PM or a mail at kaworu at sadmoons.com --- EDIT: CODER FOUND

NO LONGER Looking for someone who is well-versed in PHP/MYSQL. (Yes, for a game.) If you happen to like designing things that's also a plus. Plan: Create a (Massively) Multiplayer Browser Game.
You see, I have found someone! (or perhaps someone has found me)

I have a novel idea for a game. Patent pending! But I'm a musician and gamer foremost. First, have a look at this picture: http://farm1.static.flickr.com/79/238575205_c504aa0770.jpgWhen you cross your eyes and look at it, it looks 3D. What if a game used these mechanics? Imagine moving 3D images, a shmup for instance where you fly inwards the picture... Bullets hitting your eyes! I imagine the gameplay to be a little similar to Gyruss for c64, that game where you starred a guy called Foxx on Snes, Silkworm on Amiga, and... well, lets just say I have a lot of ideas on how the game should look, feel, and move. I have come up with a nice name for it: "N2" (en two, in two, in to, into. Possible variations: In2, Into, IN2) This could be something for YOU, dear programmer, to make if youhave some experience with 3D games. Then I googled the effect that I want, so that you can get a hint on how I want it, and ofcourse, some dude have already made short animations of it. Check em out: http://www.colorstereo.com/animat.ion/cs_title.ani/dir_anima.htmI was suprised at how gentle these are on the eyes compared to magic eye (autostereogram) images. They're quite neat - and shows that the higher the fps the better the animation, too. Actually, when I say quite neat, I mean FRIGGIN AWESOME - look at the java animations! They just SCREAM at me "make a game with this technology". Honestly, after seeing this, I think it could sell well! Of course, the game would have to have some procedural way of generating images, and animations won't do. I suspect the project could be a challenge because of this. Another challenge would be to balance the game's difficulty with it's aesthetics, so that the lazy player would want to look in the 3d way without sacrificing too much acuity skills to win in the game. Sterograms could be used between levels though - see the hidden message and you just saw the password to start on this level next time! So there! Comments, reactions, and proposals are now welcome. - SoulEye (Inspired & high on creativity) My music: http://souleye.madtracker.net

Found someone! I'm looking for a Flash coder to work with on a side project. It's a relatively simple game, probably best described as a "reversed role Qix-shooter" without the nudity. To start off with I'd just want to prototype one level, and see how it goes. I'm looking for a reasonably fast but realistic dev cycle.
If you have the skills and are interested, you can contact me via PM.

I'm looking for a Flash Programmer to assist me with a platformer. It's about four girls who are brought to and trapped in an alternate world within a old book, done so by a dark king who wishes to escape his imprisonment and resume his plans to rule over the outer world as he once intended. The four girls have to travel through this odd world to find and defeat the Dark King before this is done. Each girl has unique abilities, and they'd all need to work together in order to progress through stages. I'd be assisting with animation myself, along with basic background art- although a helping hand in that would be appreciated as well. More details given upon inquiry. Anyone might be interested in helping, please feel free to contact me via either email, PM, MSN, or AIM. AIM- supergamer134 MSN- [email protected]Thank you for your time.

Programmer/Designer looking for a 2D artist. The game is based around paint (see our in-need-of-updating website with our very-old-tech-demo video here: www.lemonscentedgames.com/, blog here: http://lemonscentedgames.blogspot.com/), and so paint, its uses, and its colours is a big part of the theme and visual imagery. Right now we're thinking that a style inspired by comic book art and graffiti is probably the way to go, although something more watercolour-inspired might also work as well. We're still polishing up tech demos and heading towards a beta at the moment, but we're hoping to find someone who is willing to get involved early with concept work and really put their visual stamp on the game. Handing someone a bunch of coder-art sprite sheets and instructions for drawing over them with proper art is one approach but we'd rather have someone who can get excited and committed rather than just cranking out work to order. If you're interested, PM me, or drop me an email at [email protected]. Show me what you can do, tell me what you want to do, perhaps ask me to froth at you about the awesome* game we're making. It'll be fun. We can't pay a lot, but we can certainly work out something, probably involving royalty deals. We're Lemon Fresh, Citrus Sharp, and our Zest is Best! *(Right now it's going to be fair-to-middling on the kickass scale. With you, it could be awesome)
