Those sprites(excluding the menu) look like they came from RPG Maker DS.
Especially that tower.

I love that thing. I approve of it. Take my praise and use it as fuel for the continuation of the project.

You know I wasn't going to, unless I continue development after I finish the base game, but it might be helpful to get some feedback. I currently have the island generation, monster pathing, and player movement done, all taken from a different game. Next comes monster fighting, then I move on to specific monsters.

the plan is for each monster to be different. so a slime might be the most basic enemy, it just moves and fights. the skeleton however, once it is killed will come back to life in 5 turns time. the plan is for the player to think about the tactics and enemy placement.

Also I am going to try and play with the level concept. normally the player dives deeper into a dungeon to fight more and more monsters. Mine will have 1 dungeon floor, with waves of enemies. think of it as a roguelike Horde mode. survive 10 waves then defeat the boss monster.

Per usual, I enjoy your palette and your neat little sprites. That skeleton! So cute.

Working on a thing.  Color inspiration from Bones' Walled Garden, but they'll probably change a bit sometime soon.

Not yet, it's just a mockup, loose script, and buggy engine ATM.  Check the devlog for updates. Wink

Thanks, credit to Bones for the inspiration.  As for the water, I've been playing around with how to animate it, and I think I'm gonna drop it down 2 pixels and have some slow moving waves on top.
Also, your game looks beautiful, I'm jelly of those animations.

here is a mock-up for the game I'm currently working on

you may recognize it from a few pages back, when it looked like this: http://forums.tigsource.com/index.php?topic=7091.msg644575#msg644575

Shouldn't you replace the ghettoblaster with iPod or iPhone?

maybe it's in the 80s? looks great! imo the clouds/sky should have more detail. all other gradients and objects are much more detailed and smooth...

That makes me stupid then, cause I was the one who sent it back for revision! D':

It's just the rules dont allow any transparencies which I think is respectable because Pixeljoint only wants pure pixel by pixel pieces to avoid becoming like Deviantart and their horrible standard of what pixel art is. We aren't Nazies! Regardless, it's a very good piece, and I hope you'd make the blue solid and submit it again. Smiley

Nevermind, I was tripping balls. That's some good pixel work.

davidlunch: The icons in that mockup are really nice! It would have been nice to see it with the solid blue and on PJ :/
