This should go in "Pitch your game topic".

As for what would happen? I highly doubt it would be very good - it sounds very prone to becoming a long sequence of inside jokes. It'd take a good amount of writing skill to make a story like that work, and it would limit the audience severely.

Phubans made a game that features cameos of famous TIG members, but it's based on The Guardian Legend rather than Cave Story. If you're going to go through with this, it might not hurt to start by researching (playing) that game first.

For your convenience. But it would be interesting to see more games with this premise. You could even make it a 'spiritual sequel' to TIGL.  Big Laff

You should include a button to switch between art styles, like on Cave Story Wii, except all it does is generate like thirty straight pages of bitching and moaning about how the game already looks perfect as it is.

Why would knowing what it's about make it a gem?

(and what would it look like to the people who don't know what it's about?)

A circle-jerk.

You'd be in a circle-jerk.

The internet is a great place to watch innocence die in real time.

Wow! According to Antymattars theory of self incomplitality, this page breaks the records of being derailed...The theory is still in the making because it has a paradox- It predicts that the mere observation of a page getting derailed, will derail it.

Because it's representing everything that is wrong with a lot of game developers nowadays:
It's made to be addictive, not made to be a good game.

Why is Farmville an enemy?

Because it's Farmville.

Because Farmville is the direct incarnation of the evils of the industry, wrapped up and disguised in an 'independent' package, while really it is designed to make money. It is not made from passion, or the love of games, or even the fact that players would love it. They made it to be an addiction, that, when played, the game will feed your mind with hormones that make you feel loved, content, yet they are sucking the life from you, and before you realize it, they already have your money. Then they throw it away, and they're on to the next one.

Or summin' like that, lunno lol.
