Guys! HaXe + Tiled Map Editor = Good tools to create world of 5734L3R: I'm super stoked to see you're back on it and I'm sure my buddy will be, too, if he hasn't found out yet.
It can get pretty hard working on That Big Project when you learn and improve faster then you can finish it. I'm thinking about revisiting an old project of mine for a rework, myself. Good luck and I'm looking forward to seeing the gameplay. As is, the presentation's still tight and awesome!
You are right. This is the reason why I have delayed this project a few times. Another reason is that I had to decide on the gameplay concept, picture and game are different things.

Love the c64 ref in the trailer! Looking forward to seeing how you transform this art style and atmosphere into gameplay.

Glad you like it, guys!
New type of robots, Supporters: They are still part of System, but can help 5734L3R with activation of some mechanism or hints. Names of all "Supporter" type robots will be same with names/nicknames of donators (check list of these awesome people here) of this project, but on robot's language. And this may become a key to deciphering the language of robots. Note: in game will not be english or any other human language.

I love the environmental design. Surprised there hasn't been as much feed back here. Glad to see it's going again.

But I also think your second notion is as important: in-game, cinematic animations can lead to awful UX if they get in the way. When the designer thinks "look at this awesome animation" and the player thinks "can I just play, please?" something went wrong ;-) Of course, I'm not saying that this is the case here, especially since we're just looking at an animated GIF.

Of course, I'm not saying that this is the case here, especially since we're just looking at an animated GIF. I think you are right, but just in cases of games where the story serves no purpose (In example shitty flash games, with some story told through text-boxes, which no one cares about). This game seems to rely a lot on being part of the world and seems to do it right. I don't think people will feel delayed through cutscenes, if they aren't 10 minutes long and well...good.

My main task now is to create a world, not a game. Not only visually ofcourse, player can interact with this world. So, it's definitely not game design, but world design. :D

This is crazy wonderful. The main protagonist have a story for himself or will the player be able to live with his own story in this world?
