Every game I tried to emulate with ePSXe worked flawlessly. I haven't tried MGS yet though.

by the way there is also a MGS pc version, but i don't know if it still works on XP. I've only Metal Gear Solid 2 for PC.
But don't believe the PSX emulator is the hardest one to config, have you ever tried the Amiga Emulator UAE?

The pc version won't let you past a certain part for some reason in XP.

Lies and deceit. I have beaten it around 10 times in XP.

Oh. That's what I read somewhere. I wouldn't really know, 'cause I have Vista and it doesn't work.

Well, it's Vista, obviously it won't work. Have you tried MGS with it yet?

I think Alpha Centauri is pretty awesome for a laptop :-) Or Battle for Wesnoth - Only if you like strategy games of course...

Dang it, you beat me to it. I double recommend Alpha Centauri. Though dragging where you want your units to move is pretty weird after using the numpad for a long long time.

Personally my subscription to GameTap goes well with my laptop. Most of their games are older so they run w/o fancy graphic cards. If you haven't got a GT subscription and you haven't played Psychonauts or Beyond Good and Evil, repent.

Don't both those games require hardware T&L? (And isn't that the most obvious graphics capability that low-end PCs lack?) I think Valve deserve huge props for making Half Life 2 seriously scalable - I ran it on my old desktop PC with an integrated graphics card - though you'll need to tolerate Steam as well.

They both work fine on meh laptop. It's not top of the line, and it doesn't have the best card. Keep an eye on GameTap, occasionally they offer Psychonauts and BGaE for free for a week so you can try it out (I recommend downloading it when it's not free, tho, so you don't have to wait all night).

Hmm, I heard about this problem many times, so when I'm gonna get a laptop I'm gonna get a fast AlienWare rig with the highest performance hardware, which can run Crysis and Far Cry 2 at pretty good detail, and can show Blu-ray movies in HD.

Well I hope you don't expect it to be very portable with those requirements.

Not if I take this one. If I wanted the most powerful one that would be a problem, yeah. It's a lot bigger and heavier than the other one.

I've never understood why people would want a high-performance gaming laptop. Get a real PC already if you want it to perform.
