Oooh well done! I'm very eager to find out how you're using your nifty webs. This seems to be more of a hint-dropping devlog than a "let it all hang out" devlog. That's fine, keep us begging for more.  Beg

I, too, <3 vervet. Haha  Smiley

Good work on the web effect. For collision detection, are you testing each node against the environment? And so you do self collisions?

I've used verlet integration for another game with rope physics. This is game is just box2d. Sometimes I wish I've done it with verlet though because of the stability when doing ropes.  Smiley

Super great pixel-ling, though I'm not sure about the beetle - it seems kinda photo-realistic... Maybe. I can't quite tell.

Also, I like the spider's sprite. Maybe holding eight legs in pairs would look good, because it doesn't really look like a spider to me (the head does somewhat, the rest doesn't). Anyway, awesome graphics!

Damn, how could I miss this so far! It looks gorgeous!

Today I've made cut scene system that is supposed to be easy to use for level designers.
Might I ask about how you accomplish "easy to use for level designers"? How does the system work?

You place these "cutscene objects" and give them a task in the level editor. Then if you place them next to each other they execute one after the other when the previous one is completed.

So, what are the applications for webbing?  Like, can we swing on them?  Walk on them like tightropes?  Attach web to other web?  Also, is web always launched diagonally up?  Have you considered a mouse pointer? (I know some people don't like that in 2d platformers like Noitu Love 2/Abuse - I think they're inane but whatever).
Anyway, the game looks awesome, though I'm not sold on the tummy cross.
