Wow so many suggestions, thx! I'll do a final edit tonight, then I'm moving on! @mauz - what, forma is in stasis? get it done! @belimoth - the mooncat is just an interdimensional transtemporal traveller, he lives nowhere and everywhere. all other moon-related items are constructed by moonman. :D

... (trying to think in a joke with moon cats)... ...(thinking in something related to Endor)... ...(thinking in how mooncats can be related to Ewoks)... ...(thinking on how stupid the previous joke was)... ...(giving up from making a joke)... ...(passing the turn to happymonster)...

eventually you'll be able to type commands in there, e.g., "spawn(chicken)". :D

Update 1: Wow, it's been 1 year and 4 days since I first started moonman, since then I've committed code 436 times to the repo and now have a code base of about 30,000 lines (not including comments etc.) Although I've only been working heavily on it for about 6 months its been a great experience so far, and I'm much more comfortable in the knowledge of how a game engine can work. I remember lying in bed a year ago and thinking how cool an ascii-style rogue-like version of Terraria could be, with a better emphasis on ecosystem and machines. Moonman's deviated a little since then into something I'm growing quite fond of ... even though its just a stupid little game. Update 2: Today I worked on connecting the subchunks in the fluid system, unfortunately its a bit glitchy, but at least it runs. Now I've got a base from which I can work on to make it behave and look better, but at least for 0.2 I think I'm almost finished with the water, I just need to add it to the save game routines.

Congratulations, eigenbom! Keep it up, this is a fantastic project.
What is your schedule for finishing the game? If the "20% done" claim is still correct, does that mean you plan on being done in roughly four years?

Maybe "spawn(houselegs)" Update 1: Wow, it's been 1 year and 4 days since I first started moonman, since then I've committed code 436 times to the repo and now have a code base of about 30,000 lines (not including comments etc.) Although I've only been working heavily on it for about 6 months its been a great experience so far, and I'm much more comfortable in the knowledge of how a game engine can work. MM isn't a stupid little game . on my opinion ,it is one of the best indie game ever made. What is your schedule for finishing the game? Yes,I hope not too, but, as you said: [...] people have no idea when there games are going to be finished.
Connect subchunks in the fluid system... I can guess what that means, but would probably be wrong... But if that makes the water look and behave better, subchunks are cool things

Haha, thx guy.
A subchunk is a 16x16 grid of fluid cells. All the subchunks are simulated in parallel, which means they all live in their own little world. Connecting the subchunks allow fluid to flow between them, so from a player's perspective there is no concept of a subchunk.

I was wrong... subchunks aren't cool things... they just deceive the player again, making it think the water moves freely... But, with that information, you will not deceive me! I KNOW THE TRUTH
