So, I lost 2 (practically 3) days on this, and looks like I'll be losing Saturday and definitely Sunday, sooo

consider mine incomplete  Cry

Next time I try this, I'll be a lot better at it though. I think I did pretty good for my first attempt at a roguelike, though.

What I did get done:
- Displaying everything
- Player Movement (and monster movement, but no AI behind it)
- Basic combat (from the player, monsters can't reciprocate hostility)
- Towns, and I want to complete their functionality completed if I can work on it today.

@JasonPickering I liked the 'demo' you posted. Couldn't tell under what conditions the tanks would shoot at me, though. Is it only when they are straight on, or is it as long as they are on screen?

@Peous My laptop doesn't agree with unity very much, so I couldn't play for very long but it was fun. The traps seemed like they had too big of a hit box, I kept taking damage from them and it didn't "feel" right, if you know what I mean. It was fun pushing monsters onto them and watching them die, though!

@Jakman4242 I hope you get this done enough where you feel comfortable releasing it! It looks fun

Can't spend more time on mine, so I'll consider it finished for now.

You can read full information on it and play the demo here (and find an exe version if webplayer is too slow) : http://7drl.org/2012/03/17/smooth-rogue-final-version/
Direct link ot webplayer version here: http://www.2dif.com/Unity/7DRL/6/

Maybe I'll continue it with a devlog. Don't know what it's worth.

Finished mine: http://mightyvision.blogspot.co.uk/2012/03/7drl-zaga-33.html

Didn't have time to put in an end-goal so I just made it be to try and get as far as you can.

So, I ended up losing 4 days because school is a bitch. I'm working on the final touches and then I'll release. It's playable, just doesn't have as much as I wanted. It has generation, combat dynamics, leveling up, 1 enemy. No items or anything. I'll also be releasing the source code most likely.

Sakar! Come back and finish what you started! It looked cool!

Nolithius, your Adventurer's Guild entry is pretty awesome. Nice take on the food clock. I like how deterministic the combat is, the game becomes quite tactical, yet super quick to play. Expansion pack coming? Maybe some ranged enemies to mix it up?

Hey Fromage de Soja, glad you enjoyed The Adventurer's Guild!

I have a few other projects in the works at the moment, but ultimately, I would like to flesh out The Adventurer's Guild or expand it into another game.

I initially planned to change the control during combat to a tactical AP-based system akin to Jagged Alliance 1-2, Fallout 1-2, Final Fantasy Tactics, etc., but had to cut it out due to time constraints. That and varied monsters, items, character progression, the ability to hire different adventurers, etc.

Thanks for the support!

I think you've really hit upon something nice in the control and presentation. The way it is turn based yet still retains some of the freedom of a real time game is quite good and definitely deserves some more attention.  Hand Thumbs Up Right
