Rip your dick off, you publicity seeker. Set up a devlog, show stuff and then you could have the right to mar this topic.

Yeah! (But less harsh) (Also, your game looks great, but where's the gameplay?)

Yeah that's effectively the flexible funding campaign type from indiegogo.
If anything it shows that they've put no thought into how much it's going to cost them to do and they just want people to throw money at them.

I'm not sure what's worse, the $10 goal or the fact people have tossed $66k their way up to this point.

Hey folks, we're trying to bring back the glorious, but fading, old school gamebook genre in both digital and book forms. Holdfast: Record of the Dwarven Kingdoms is a 600+ section gamebook for print (soft and hardcover), Android, Mac and PC, beginning at Tiers as low as $5. The print gamebook will be available Q4 2013, with the digital versions to follow in Q2 2014. Please lend us your axe in getting the word out and helping us to get gamebooks front and center again in gaming culture! The link to the Kickstarter: http://kck.st/11UOlBU

No, it's not a game. But you should fund it anyway.

I think you should tell your friends they shouldn't start the video with an excuse like "WARNING, we tried our best at editing the video but let's face it, we are not actors" to then continue with a guy looking scared reading an autocue with exactly two cuts in the video and a very weird ending with a very loud beep that made my speakers go funny.
I saw the good half of a monitor in the back that showed something I might be more interested in, I couldn't tell really.
why don't they show something like gameplay/designs/prototypes or all that jazz ? Makes me feel there is nothing but a few photoshopped sketches and some elitist thoughts displayed in phrases like 'We all played a lot of horror games and to us they all have the same flaws ..' or 'and bring you the most imersive thriller game out there today' while the only thing that's possibly new is the idea of a blinking main character.
No sorry, as it stands I actually hope they will fail, that might be a good learning moment. In which the lesson that's to be learned would be something like 'make some kind of trailer, show your ideas in a way I can imagine playing the game, make me feel I want this basically'

Yeah, the Kickstarter campaign's presentation isn't really that well made unfortunately. To be honest I'm not really sure why they made a Kickstarter campaign that early though, which kind of makes me sad because it is a legitimate game they're working on. :I
If you're interested in more of the content, there's some concept art and soundtrack on the bottom of the page. I can see that it's pretty problematic to start a campaign like this that early, but I can confirm that they are actively working on it (they already have models afaik).
I might try to ask him if he got some more presentable content. But I totally see what you mean and I also agree with you. Let's see how this will go.
