Yes, he's forgetful, but the name is just incidental. He's the first boss fight in the game (a character carried over from the prequel which was a silly little text adventure), and he is also unique in that cutting his health down to nothing is optional- it's very hard, at that. You only need to get past the ruins and into the castle to succeed.



(dialogue subject to change, it hasn't been edited yet)

He slows down and speeds up: at his peak speed he is much quicker than you, so you need to try and hit him while he's moving slow while it's pretty much required you run from him when he's fast. (Not that you even need to hit him period, but it's required if you want to truly "defeat him".)

Gameplay looks good, especially the controls!

Couldn't you make the screen follow the character instead of the airship, and make the airship's speed depend on how far off screen he is? Seems a bit irritating to have to stay and wait for him...

Thanks for the advice. I'm gonna modify it some more tonight and I'll definitely keep that in mind (in addition, I'm also gonna reduce the gigantic vertical sway by about half).

The gameplay footage looks great! But please, dear sweet Jesus, find someone to do the music for you. I would last no longer than 20 seconds if the game had music like the track you used in the trailer. Not exaggerating.

EDIT: the boss music in your second video is a lot less annoying. Smiley

I'm open to volunteers; I don't know much about music still (I started learning it specifically for this game) so my strategy for the trailer's music was "I will slap soundfonts over the tracks and this will make it more presentable for a trailer than just MIDI would have been".

Convenience. If you were rich and constantly crapped out cannonballs you would see the possible utility.

I have to apologize to everyone for this; a bunch of stuff that side-tracked me (such as moving into a new place) and then I started waiting for Battlerager to redo the boss music before I record the next boss video (his midi work is just amazing). I didn't want to bump the topic with a deficit of stuff to update it with, so I held off until now.

As a result of all the stuff I will have to bump the release of the game back a month or two- the redone soundtrack will totally make it worth the wait, though.

Right now I need someone who knows what they're doing with high quality audio to redo the trailer music, if you are capable and still interested :p

So once the boss music is finished (probably tomorrow or so) I'll get on recording a new video.

Update bonus: American boxart Moth. I believe it accurately conveys the hero with no discrepancies whatsoever, don't you? Taking some cues from Capcom's older localized boxart, which seemed to go over so well.
