Shouldn't every character have more than one hurt sprite?

Y'know, one for when he gets hit with a weak attack, and another for when he really gets hurt.

Weak attacks will be differentiated by not knocking the character back as much.

If there were multiple hit sprites, it would be better to have different sprites for different hit locations.

But that's something to worry about once we have more of the basic sprites done.

I honestly think it's pretty bad, but I was working on between hours today, we had some people over.

That's pretty good for being done in a distracting environment, though!

I'll let someone else nitpick it. I'm too sleepy and bothered mildly by other threads to do this without feeling like I'm being too harsh.

The little space that's his head should be shaded darker and his left hand should probably show his thumb on the back of the gun, maybe

Right on!

The gun needs to be quite a bit thicker.

And something about the eyes is bugging me, but I just can't pick it. Maybe because they're pure black?

The shading on the neck looks kind of like a mouth.
Maybe make it a bit thicker?

The gun is tiny and the eyes are huge. It's a good start, but it will still need some changes. I like the bandanna, though.

I thought that was his mouth, but then I though, hold on, Liero doesn't have a mouth. But then I thought, in Liero, he doesn't even have eyes (I don't think, haven't played for a while), so a mouth would be kinda cool.

THICKER!

Look at the sprites, the gun's nearly as thick as him!

That, and you could probably just slim him down a few pixels on either side; he can be pretty  lean, and plus, Naija proves that you don't have to do extreme close-ups to have a recognizable portrait.

Yeah, he seems a little bit fat in the portrait. I think we could really orient ourselves at the concept art for the portrait too:

The gun might need to be moved a bit to the center get it into the portrait.

Also, how the hell did that color change in my shooting  animation happen?  WTF
I'll correct that sometime (hopefully soon)..

I just isolated one of the frames from my hurt animation:

Not satisfied, but i'm too tired to work on it right now.

Also, i don't know if you caught this when I posted it a while back, but I recolored the Larpa firing animation to match the missile's smoke trail:

This might just be my vision, but you might want to move the explosion a little down and to the right by a few pixels. Nice lighting though!

I agree. Especially since the barrel of the gun is the small lower part.
