my notebook is broken so this game is postponed until i can retrieve the data from the hardrive. sorry.

prologue: ok, so earlier this year i started making a short game for the game boy jam 3. i didn't get to finish it in time, and now i have some time in my hands so i'm finishing before end of the year.

ok, it's a "rescue from bad guys" game with maybe obvious influences.
you ride your horse to rescue your kidnapped friend...

you can get the first (totally incomplete) build here: http://gamejolt.com/games/action/the-curse-beyond-time/31847/

done:
-main mechanics.
-most of the mapping.
-enemies' ai.
-most graphics.

to do:
-everything else.

as i have most of the gameplay down, i'm working on the actual storyline.
it's a short game, and i'm about 3 fifths lengthwise.
right now i'm doing the intro cause, otherwise the whole thing doesn't make much sense, running around with no goal.

after getting my banks to work in GBDK, today i finished implementing a cool fade out/in function to make transitions between screens. it now fades the sprites as well as the backgrounds.

it runs more smoothly ingame.

Is this actually running in a gameboy emulator or have you built it in something else?

Hey!
yes, it's an actual game boy rom that can be run in emulators or actual game boys.
to this point it runs correctly in bgb, visualboy and in my game boy color using ems cart.

there was a super early build at the gamejolt page but i put it down until i get at least a proper demo that can be enjoyed.

this would be the first screen, where the protagonist is resting with his family.

That is beautiful! Cannot wait to see what comes of this. I have worked with the GBA and found it very pleasant.

hey there!

you won't fight colossi here, sorry.

just for clarification:
It's not a demake. i just pretty much ripped-off the bridge, and took other core elements behind team ico's games, specially sotc. Durr...?

edit: lol at my avatar. an obsession with seeing ico in a game boy?
