PLAY IT!

Here is something I am making for PetJam.

The basic idea is going to be that you have to keep this lava monster happy. Neglect it-- make it sad... and it turns into a rock... make it angry and the volcano it lives in erupts...

I've actually sort of had a virtual pet idea stewing in my head for some time. I thinking I would add it to my big project... but its just so big that maybe I could take this smaller idea and make it it's own stand alone thing. Also the fact that there is a jam going on for this specific thing... and well...

So here is a hand. It's not a normal hand-- its a metal/rock hand because you would burn yourself if you tried to pet a lava monster.



This is all you can do so far. Planning on being able to play catch with (fire)balls. Not sure what other things. Need to look at other virtual pet games for inspiration.

Got the fetching mechanic working. Only 6 days left for petjam and I don't predict having much time in those days to work. May need to leave it here for now.



I think the only other 2 things I will have time to add are the neglect cooling part of the game, and the abused/angry volcano eruption part.

Well I "finished" and submitted. You can play here. I never quite know whether I'm really done with something or not... I got a little fatigued making this... I proud of it but maybe making digital pets isn't exactly for me.
