The Synths Are Among Us Synths are a cool, I'm sure you all agree, right? And do you know what else is fun sometimes? Limiting the amount of tools you have, so this TIGSource musical challenge will involve both of those things: I want you guys to show me what you can do with one synth. You can have as many instances of said synth, but if you decide on the Analog synth in Ableton, a Moog Minitaur or [insert favorite synth here], that's got to be on every track, and any element of the song (Drums, pads etc.) has to be done with your chosen synth. Rules!- Track should be ≥ 1 minute
- As many tracks as you want, but you have to commit to using one synth!
- Effects like delay, reverb, compression etc. are fine!
- No recycling! (Original content)
- I will pick 3 finalists, then you guys decide who wins!
- Submit the track by the end of the 27th March 2016
I'm sure you guys won't fail to impress! Have at it gentlemen!

I'm intrigued. Been thinking about how I would go about doing this. I like creativity directed through limitations

Already have a couple of ideas for this challenge. Always been a spectator so this should be a good first challenge to participant in.

So, to clarify (a bit confused):
If I choose to use Synth Maker A, I have to create EVERY aspect of the piece using Synth Maker A.

I sort of do this anyway haha. I use Reason's Thor for way too many things and the same drum sample pack for years now. I'll give a go and report back! Host on Soundcloud cool?

Thor is a fantastic synth! Very versatile But to answer your question, Soundcloud is fine!

Guess I'll drop the first one: https://soundcloud.com/zenchamusic/an-ancient-cavernAll sounds created using Reason's Thor synth. Perc sounds using the noise oscillator. Song is built to loop (Soundcloud upload is one loop). Looking forward to hearing others! EDIT: Added a pixel art cover for *MORE EMOTIONAL IMPACT*

Is it okay if I modify some audio after recording it from the synth or do all tracks need to be MIDI? I mean pitch shifting, time stretching, that kind of thing

Everyone's submissions sound great! Zencha, I love how you switch up the timing throughout the piece, it's really nice. Narolol, you nailed the country-chip vibe. Dustin, I've got Steven Universe chills listening to your piece, it's awesome! If I may ask, which synth did you use? I went with NI's Absynth in the end, it was fun to get to grips with. It's a weird ambient synth that inspired me to make some ambient weirdness: Listen to Arrivals on SoundCloud. Thanks for listening!
