I've been working on a game called Ninja Kame. The game's name is suppose to be a parody to Kage No Densetu or Ninja Kage, as people in my country call it. Kame basically means a turtle, so the game is a world of anthropomorphic animals/reptiles with a old Japanese setting where samurai meets ninja and all that :O These are three main characters. The thumbnails show what they're from. Please click on the thumbnail to see the design The characters are , from left to right, Kamekichi, Kameleo and Kamera. The artworks are done by Piti, my team artist. - - -

You should give the tail of the third one some fur, otherwise it will be mistaken for a.. mis-shaped.. i can't even describe that thing, what the hell
Also, tails are more successful if they don't hang, but instead curl up.. kinda

That's an axolotl. And it doesn't have fur. it's a reptile.

Phallus. Just use Phallus if you're offended. It's Formal! Also, I agree with Yama. The characters are cute, and bonus points for using an Axolotl as inspiration! They're charming creatures. However, large, hanging tails, whilst being anatomicaly correct, look really phallic. Maybe you should opt for quarter profile views, so one can understand the tails come from the back? Front-on views are kind of rigid, anyways. Regardless, Ninja Animals. Hooray! What's the game going to be like? Also, Inanimate? Axolotls are no reptiles. They're amphibians.

Phallus. Just use Phallus if you're offended. It's Formal! Phallus = erect penis penis = penis Both are formal [EDIT] Oh well, the meaning seems to be different in english than in my language

Have you ever seen a phallus pointing downwards?

I think the point about the tail looking like a phallus has already been established. It would be nice if we can discuss something else so I can learn what are the opinions about the other aspects of the characters. Thank you @Gainsworthy Thanks for you suggestion! These images are just for references anyway so it's easier to make sprites in the future. The game will be horizontal shmup. I'm surprised seeing that people like axolotl here hehe. My friends aren't fond of these reptiles/amphibians so much :D

Yes. I think they should look more like their animal counterparts, facially. After all, what's the point in having an anthropomorphic character if you don't intend on taking advantage of the liberties in design allowed you? (I know there's still a point but it's just no fun.)

The furries would like a word with you. I like the designs. Keep 'em, don't change 'em. Not that you would, it's just, you know.

Is that a tail between your legs, or are you just happy to see me? Concepts are goodly done. The clothing designs in particular are pretty cool, like the upper-echelon of wacky Japanese superhero costumes
