It's out!  It's oouuuuuttttt!!!

A new film opens to rave reviews, despite its bloody history.  A beautiful uptown office remains unoccupied, despite its prime location.  A downtown artist berates himself for selling out, while a Wall Street investor congratulates himself on a job well done.  Just normal life in the big city?  Or is somthing more sinister binding these events together?

Bizarre connections are a dime a dozen for the Blackwell family, but just how far back do they go? Medium Rosangela Blackwell and her spirit guide Joey Mallone are about to find out.

A job well done.

Looks very intersting, though I am unsure as to waht the plot of this game is exactly. I took a look at the website and downloaded the demo for The Shivah and The Blackwell Legacy. I'm always up for a good adventure game for sure Smiley

one thing i noticed is that the sprites are a bit pixelated, but the backgrounds are very smooth -- not that that's a bad thing, it's just noticeable

I didn't do the art myself.  It was all the work of these guys.  Sprites were made by Shane Stevens, who is also working on Vince's Resonance.

I was also wondering how one goes about doing backgrounds styled like that. It looks really nice and smooth, and you don't see the look too often. It would be worth playing around with.

The game looks great, anyways! I'll probably end up buying a copy when my next cashload comes in.

Best of luck with your launch! I'm a big fan of the way you manage Wadjet Eye Games.

Do you find that voice acting makes a large difference with the reception of point and click games? It's interesting when you have games such as Phoenix Wright without voices, and the suggestion that games can be played through more at the pace of the player without the slowness of voice acting.

Thanks Hayden!  It's hard to say.  I know that when we were testing Emerald City Confidential, the testers got REALLY bored when there wasn't any voice acting.  They complained that they felt like they couldn't take their eyes off the screen for a second.  They really wanted the characters to be voiced.  Then, when they played a voiced version, they tended to click through the dialog really fast!  So, in a weird way, the players preferred having the voice acting even though they didn't stop and listen to it all the way through.  Of course, the ECC tesetrs were all casual gamers, so it's hard to say how valid it is for gamers as a whole.

Mr Gilbert!

Would it be a terrible thing if people played this game first, or do you think that your games can be played comfortably in a non-chronological order?

I've yet to play a Blackwell game, it's something I need to rectify soon!

Hi Hayden!  I did my best to make it stand-alone.  There are some bits that refer to previous games but I do my best to fill in the gaps.  The first section of the game is specifically designed to ease newcomers into the series.  It will have more meaning if you've played the other ones, but you can easily start with this one.

Woo! Reviews!

Jay Is Games calls it "a rare treat" and that Rosangela Blackwell is a "heroine we can relate to."

Yesterday's Salad calls it a "joy to play" and "hard to put down."

These make me happy.
