Name: Six Degrees To FreedomDescription: A space shooter playing in a cave system, inspired by Descent. You have to escape from a dangerous planet. Read more about the Demo here: http://forums.tigsource.com/index.php?topic=34414.0... still in the wrong subforum DevLogs Should be in Feedback.Any comments welcome, Ben Maybe think of a name that kind of describes what kind of game it is, as well as what the game is about. Six Degrees to Freedom to me does not sound like a shooter. Sounds like a runner. But that's me.

I'm creating a Space Invaders style game. Instead of lasers, you shoot rockets. The name: Cosmic Rocket Defender. What do you think? Here is an instagram of a screenshot. http://instagram.com/p/bGAd-VQaS4/#I think just Cosmic Rocket sounds better. To me, at least. But that title is probably me-specific. For something along the lines of your current title, I would recommend..."Defense of the Cosmos", or "Rocket Blast". Sorry, I'm no good with names...xD Let me know what you think, please! Thanks for the feedback. I think about it some more.

But if you knew that the game gives you 6 degrees of freedom to move and is about escaping a prison planet I found the name quite sticky. But interesting to hear what you associate with it. Thank you.

Cornerstone appears to have been coined for a board game, according to a quick Google search, if that means anything. I like the name though.

Hi! what do you think about this game name? The Intergalactic TrashmanIt's a space driving & platform game. To sum up, you need to collect trash and recycle them (and many more things of course ). We are from spain so...We don't know exactly if "Trashman" is a garbage collector or a man made of trash. This is the logo: And an alpha gameplay video: Soon we'll write a devlog for this , but firstly we want to recieve some feedback for the game's name

Maybe consider removing the "the"? It sounds good like it is, just make sure you have considered the potential problems:
It may be harder to say the game name: "I'm playing Intergalactic Trashman" vs. ""I'm playing The Intergalactic Trashman"
In alphabetical lists, your game will get stuffed in with all the other "The"-titles, which makes it slightly less visible (I think).
Depending on your story it may be more intuitive to say that you play as "a trashman", rather than "the trashman".

Thanks for your feedback In response to Dacke: I think the people will say "I'm playing TIT" instead "I'm playing The intergalactic trashman".You're right about the visibility , but... the game tells the story of a specific "trashman", maybe if we cut the "the" of the title, it sounds incomplete. "Intergalactic trashman" sounds more generic to me, what do you think? Thanks!!

It shouldn't be generic. Games with generic names quickly get forgotten (in most cases). I think you should stick with The at beginning, it looks cooler.

"The Intergalactic Trashman" is also pretty generic. I would opt for something with more personality, referencing something in the game such as the player character's name, or the garbage collection company, or the location. In alphabetical lists, your game will get stuffed in with all the other "The"-titles, which makes it slightly less visible (I think).
Actually no, alphabetical lists and indices always put "The" and "A/an" at the end of the rest of the title, so this would appear as "Intergalactic Trashman, The".

The garbage collection company is called "Intergalactic Trashmen". The main character hasn't got a name yet, but the game name refers to him. Maybe a subtitle would be less generic? "The Intergalactic Trashman: Something" Thanks

Some do, but many don't. If there are other trashmen (so he's not "the trashman") I think it would make sense to remove the "the". I would be like: Dacke, Intergalactic Trashman Extraordinaire But as I said, I think both versions are fine.
