Some of those may have been covered in indiegames.com/blog -- I remember either I or timw reviewed the first Sonny game there for instance. Not that that means TIGSource shouldn't review them of course.

http://aztaka.citeremis.com/?page_id=7I'd be quite interested to know if it's any good... But yeah - keep an eye on Iron Tower generally. They have a third game besides Age of Decadence and Scars of War called Cyclopian in a sort of public-preproduction state, and a couple of secret projects. It's rather cool what they're doing in creating a sort of umbrella-label for indie RPGs.

I remember finding Aztaka and posting about it a couple of months ago--since it's just been released, that's certainly worth posting about! A few more titles I gleaned from the Rampant Games blog, and other places: Mars is a futuristic action RPG for the Playstation 3(?!) - http://www.mars.spiders-games.com/Vespers 3D sounds pretty interesting; it's supposedly an RPG-ification of an award-winning interactive fiction game - http://www.greatgamesexperiment.com/game/vespers3d/Kivi's Underworld sounds like a fairly polished Diablo-style, dungeon-delving action RPG - http://www.soldak.com/Kivis-Underworld/Overview.htmlEternal Eden sounds like an interesting jRPG take on the Garden of Eden myth, even if it does just look like a "blah" generic RPG Maker game otherwise - http://www.blossomsoft.com/Parhedros is a 3D RPG with randomly generated dungeons - http://www.parhedros.com/ourgames.htmlAveyond 2 is, well, I think everyone knows what this is already, but it's worth mentioning, especially with Aveyond 3 supposedly coming out very soon - http://www.amaranthia.com/modules/aveyond2/Dire Desire - http://elvisalistar.wordpress.com/2009/01/06/dire-desire-the-game/Fate is a Diablo-style game, though it's developed by Wild Tangent and I'm not sure if they would be considered strictly "indie" - http://games.wildtangent.com/fate/Pelorea: Tactical War is a hex-based tactical RPG that's still under development - http://www.pelorea.com/Black Sigil is an indie RPG being developed for the Nintendo DS and GBA, with a June 7 release date - http://www.studioarchcraft.com/project.htmThe Adventures of Cendah - http://www.kingdiz.se/cendah.htmFastcrawl - http://www.pawleyscape.com/fastcrawl/The Broken Hourglass, still early in development - http://www.planewalkergames.com/Caverns of Underdeep, a browser-based roguelike made in Java with an online score table - http://www.tinyfrogsoftware.com/cavernsbeta/caverns_of_underkeep.html

Wow, this is all really great stuff guys. I definitely have to play a few of these...and get off my ass and find some more indie RPGs to contribute here. Bludgeons and Krakens is pretty damn good by the way.

Interestingly, out of pure coincidence I've played the demo of Depths of Peril this morning. After 5 minutes, I stopped, thinking "Oh well, a decent Diablo-clone. Thanks, but no thanks." But as I got a glimpse of those strategy elements in the game, I was still a little bit interested and at least read one of the reviews for the game. As I was now much more interested in the game, knowing that it is actually full of strategic decisions, I gave the demo a second try. Well, it took 2 hours and 20 minutes to make me stop playing again, I enjoyed it that much. Later I'm going to play it again, and after that maybe one or two more times, before I'm likely going to buy it, anyway. So, cutting that story of my life a bit shorter: I really want to see Depths of Peril covered on TIGS, it is so very worth it!

these are a lot of games for me to try immediately, so i'll be trying them over the next few weeks and reviewing them.
although for the shareware ones, i can't exactly try them without buying them (i can try the demo, but a review based on a demo and not a full game is lame). i could always ask for a review copy for free (many developers don't mind that), but then it'd feel obligated to review it even if i don't like the full version (i still feel bad about asking for a review copy of dangerous high school girls in trouble and then not getting to the end of the game and being unable to review it due to various problems I had finishing the game). so they're a bit of a quandary. i did try the demo of eternal eden a ways back though and although it's a very standard jrpg clone i did enjoy what little i played of it.

Eternal Eden sounds like an interesting jRPG take on the Garden of Eden myth, even if it does just look like a "blah" generic RPG Maker game otherwise - http://www.blossomsoft.com/ I'm generally not a fan of JRPGs, but something about this game really worked for me. Mind you, I only played a portion of the demo, and I found one of the main characters to be highly annoying. Still, it was engaging and well crafted.

Are there more old OHRRPGCE games you could review? I quite enjoyed the brief couple of posts about games made in the engine.

there are tons of ohrrpgce games I could review, yes. but most of them aren't packaged with the ohr game runner, so it may be confusing to people to have to download the ohrrpgce runner, the game file, then run the game file in the runner. i know it makes sense that you'd think they should package the game with the runner, so people outside of the community would be able just to dl and play, but it's not a custom there for some reason (perhaps since it increases the file size by a few mb and everyone already has it so they figure why bother). also, many were created with older versions of the ohrrpgce, which, when played in the newer versions, break (it's not fully backwards compatible when it comes to all things). so you often have to find the specific ohrrpgce version that that game was made in. but besides those problems i'd be happy to review a few.

I think someone should mention A Blurred Line, if only for its status as the good rpg maker game. It's also, coincidentally, quite brilliant. Don't be turned off by its lack of any kind of programming or indeed graphical merit; the game ITSELF is a good 'un and I think anyone who recalls it will agree.

I enjoyed that game right up until shortly after the pivotal plot point at the beginning of the game. I had escaped my place of employment, ran into a cave, was attacked by giant rats, and killed. This annoyed me so much that I put the game down and never resumed playing it. I'm sure the game is good aside from that, though.

Word has it that Blossomsoft is working on a sequel to Eternal Eden (creatively named Eternal Eden 2). From GamersHell: The game will feature Japhee, a girl who possess a clairvoyance gift. Thanks to her special ability, you will be allowed to influence parts of the game by reading the future through special artifacts. Blossomsoft also announced they have two other projects under development, Project Stellar and Western Lords.
