Have been working on the melee attacks a bit. They are now all one button, and you can combo your attacks with increasing damage. A little bounce back on the hits feels really good, but it does have the tendency to knock you off of small platforms, so I'm not sure exactly what to do yet. I'll keep tweaking this until the end.

We've been working on improving the combat. One thing that really decreased the technical challenges was removing friendly fire inside a faction. So if you've got 6 goblins striking at the same time next to each other they don't kill all their friends (and they suddenly become very lethal towards player). Though they can still damage their own faction if that was their intended aggro target. For example: player disguised as a goblin attacks another goblin, in that case the NPC will be allowed to do damage to their own faction. It can still become a crazy bloodfest if there's lots of different factions going at it like this: (neutral factions like the Witch and Domovoi tend to stand around as nobody wants to attack them, only player or stray explosion can trigger their bloodlust ) Another enemy combat tweak was to allow retargeting during the early part of the strike, which helps a ton in their ability to hit the targets. (animations look a bit worse as there's some sliding but gameplay is king) Random generated desert world:

I've never posted a screen in this thread, but I'll go ahead and add something to the mix. Always awesome looking at everyone's projects. Keep up the good work.

And we're back with new art for screenshot Saturday from our game, Flotsam! This time another piece of concept art that our environment artist, wazeau transformed into lovely visuals for the game. Once we get some decent lighting implemented in the game, these buoys will make sure nights are never pitch black.

Bit of a doctored screenshot. One of the IM logs of the many I'll be putting up on officegod.com a couple times a week, webcomic style.
