One team is indeed trying to get a certain amount of money, in the form of gems and gold. As stated before, I feel this makes the prospector a super-powerful class as it's relatively easy to zero in on some veins.
In competitive play, I don't see a lot of worth in the use of blocks, other than to build bridges and stairs and such to make it easier / safer / possible to get to certain places.

I really hope this game stays alive for a really long time. I spent an hour and a half running around just looking for gold and building really long tunnels and it was super fun.

Is the competitive play actually fun? I've only played a little bit of "sandbox" and liked that, but I imagine that an actually "proper" match could be pretty hectic and too uncontrollable.

Huge update for 1.5. I got into this game through the Blockland Forums, and when the update was released everyone went crazy. The update includes a server browser, where servers can be made public and joined through the browser, numerous bugs (including the beacon bug) are fixed, and some bloom lighting has been added! |

Agreed, but to an extent. While I think the drama board should be axed, the actual community when not yelling at each other does great work. |
