Man, Zero-town is almost cooler than nulldorf...

But actually, dorf comes from an old post that I read on rec.games.roguelike.nethack insisting that the most successful characters in nethack were the ones with ridiculous names. I've been Dorf ever since, but still haven't ascended  Sad (hence null)
