DIRECT POST FROM CLOSED BETA FROM POPPENKAST

I present to you an action/strategy game that was originally ment for the 3h compo.

All it needs is a shitload of polish, sfxr sounds and I already got some music from phlog.

no screens because they all look ugly

HOW IT WORKS:

wasd controls you, your teams action general.
You have a random weapon [minigun shotgun rockets sniper]
lmb fires it
rmb sends troops forward or backward if you keep it pressed above or under yourself.
Troops respawn over time.
You instantly respawn.
Destroy the enemy city.
Generals level up at 5 and 15 kills.
I suggest not too much troops and just 1 leader per side.

FEEDBACK:
Is it fun? Are the weapons balanced? etc. What does it need.

Awesome, I like how each weapon has it's own purpose.

It was a fun game.  I did found the sniper a bit hard to use.  I would have like a bit more control as far as the team is concerned, maybe being able to tell them to go side to side as well as forward and back, or just being able to point out locations for them to go rather than directions.

I thought is was fun. Pretty hectic, and I like how you are just thrust into the action. The BG color wouldn't go back to red, which I liked because it was less obnoxious. I think you should bring up the color picker for that, because it's easy enough. I think you should add blood, and sounds.

Go JW!

Sniper is excellent for taking out leaders. Also for the left/right: Rooms will be made narrower.

Thanks! Red is fixed, sorry. Effects and sounds will come, color picker too I guess. Smiley

Wow, I really like how balanced it is. I was almost beaten in the end. Though it was a bit short. Maybe make the buildings more durable for lengthy play?

This is a pretty cool game, it makes me think of some of the action/rts hybrids I've been imagining and over-designing in my head, but really just keeps it minimal.
