Mock Anger Oh. My. Fucking. Job. "!".

I just spent 2 solid weeks with 99% of my waking time and attention there, including 3 call-ins and a double-shift. Hence my conspicuously prolonged absence. Not only was it exhausting and highly time consuming, I kinda lost my place on what specifically I was working on.

Then idiot me went to level-test, only to find that 250-300 objects (in GM) were all created assuming direction 90 = down. FAIL'T. But on the plus side, reverse-gravity works great for a change!

Working on the database through iteration when I've already played the game for the millionth time, or refining subtle but critical story elements when I can't seem to get into a creative and empathetic mood.

Coding.

I love coding, except when i'm actually doing it, I start hating it. And when I stop coding, I immediately start loving it again. It may have to do with my "Want to know everything/Don't want to learn anything" lifestyle.

I'm a failure in some way.

I can say that the temptation is a very big obstacle. Agreed.
But there's also that you might start thinking the current idea's stupid.

Coding.

In all my life, I have noticed this as the numero uno to overcome. I applaud ye who get their nose to the grindstone.

Sometimes I'd just rather read a book or watch cartoons.

Haha... yeah!  I spent several hours watching RockmanEXE while procrastinating one time Tongue

Art.  My lack of an ability to draw has canceled dozens of projects I've had ideas for.

I have almost as much technical idealism as game design idealism.  Consequently, I get sidetracked by frustrations with core technologies that I consider bad.

The sprites, I usually don't even start the coding. I do get some games playable, but they're usually like 8bit and since I am a shitty programmer I know people won't like my games unless I give my all into the aesthetics. So then I make like 1 sprite, which takes 2 hours, then I go "well fuck this, I don't have that kind of time" and storm off to do homework or play CoD.

Compounding this is the problem that I get really inspired to make a particular sprite, then when I try to make more sprites they're only about 50% as good.

This last week I've had many ideas, but the problem is: I don't even want to start, and i'm convinced I'll faill at some point.

Work keeps me from finishing,
because I'm too tired to wrap my head around the coding after.  Facepalm
