Yeah, I've been weighing up how fun it would be to have decentralised control but with more inputs. Still, I want to make a fun single player game too, so who knows where I'll go. Wish you luck!

It's an interesting idea but what do you do if less people are playing? Surely it will need some nice AI to take over missing players. Good luck!

Wow. The art style reminds me so much of old games like Jill of the Jungle. I really want to play this.

It's an interesting idea but what do you do if less people are playing?
You make some friends, nerd. Seriously though, the game is relatively mundane if you play it by yourself. It would be impossible to keep the game as-is and have it still be a one-button game, there would need to be some significant mechanic and control changes. I might seriously contemplate making a singleplayer version for release outside the compo, or perhaps as a separate mode if I have the time. Wow. The art style reminds me so much of old games like Jill of the Jungle. I really want to play this.

I find it easier and more enjoyable to make 3D art instead of sprites, and I really enjoy the look of old flat-shaded 3D games. I enjoy seeing the comparisons people make with particular games or styles.

Posted to Gamejolt, so you can play online.
I'm going to try and see how you can do online high scores in Unity, and I might make a single-player version with more streamlined controls, infinite levels, and maybe even powerups / more enemy types.

It's actually very simple: link. I've got the scripts ported to C# if you prefer as well (not that that's much work though).

Thanks for the link!
I'm quite familiar with web programming and databases, and I was wondering how you could securely add high scores anonymously without letting people just post to the page with random bogus scores. I didn't think of ading the secret key to make a hash, shame on me honestly, I'm already aware of doing something similar to store passwords and it just didn't occur to me to use the same method, but with the player name and score.
