Made some random robot and character parts, trying to make a (fake) mmorpg/rpg equipment dealer. Basically I just needed an excuse to avoid studying. And I like pixelling and haven't done so since the VGNG

PHEW

that took way tooo long

im so pixel worked out.

all the colors hand picked
and handdrawn.


i made it for a map for Baldings Quest.

if you scroll down you can see the map guide i followed.
im not sure how youd win this.  and most of the npcs wwould probably get taken out anyways. 

but its fun to look at.


if baldings quest doesnt come about for a long time, maybe ill use it for something  really small.

'cavestory on a map'

also: in accual baldings quest it would be really cool if like just for this map, there would be like, dialogue/text boxes, and the puzzle of the map would be like super tiny story.

it was realy hard to fit them into the tile size.. can you help me on what to improve?  i could probably get away with making balrog bigger, whats wrong with quote tho

BQ is on hold while Brandon is away, I guess. I don't know where he is but he's been gone for like... 6 or 7 months I'd guess?
Anyway, to expand on Adam's comment, Balrog looks kind of high, and Quote seems...? I'm not really sure what's wrong with him, but Quote does look weird there.

i think i fixed balrog.  i tried fiddling with quote, but its hard to fix something when you have no idea whats wrong with it.

also added a teeny life capsule.

that sucks about BQ,

maybe ill do something else with it in the meantime.

Feedback time!
Mr Trianglehead: Excellent on both thingies! only crit is that I think the shield-arm sideview looks weird without a visible arm.

Annabelle Kennedy:

Busted out the spritesheets of the game to use as a reference Smiley. My edit didn't come out very good anyway, though Sad.
Balrogs grin is lower and his eyebrows are more like a crescent.
Quote is... weird. I couldn't get the likeness that great, but most of the problems with yours (and mine too!) are in the arms. I also made the head less wide, not sure if I should have though.

i personally think the likeness is fine, but he looks better with wider head. though

@Mr Trianglehead.
The robots and character parts study is really brilliant!!!
I like those little rpg cute characters too, but parhaps a little more contrast would help in making their many details more "readable".
another little thing i noticed is that the shield of the skeleton knight is not moving in the left view, while in all the other views moves together with the caracter walking.

okay this is it.

I think.
This makes me want to play Cave Story again ...  Shocked
