I was just watching your trailer and with all the hitting against platforms with your head I thought: Hey, that's a cloud, clouds split up, one part should go over the platform and one part under it. I think that would allow from some interesting level design.

I think that bar is an immersion breaker , you could do something like a spin double jump when button is pressed and he can glide in air (fall slower) if button is not released
