Top left is a "gold crop" aka rare crop that grows randomly (and more commonly as you become "better" at growing that crop. I'll explain that in a bit (if I keep that mechanic).

But anyways its just worth more.

Also the crop next to it is dead, you need to harvest them in time or they die.


Anyways let me try to explain the way I want farming to work.

Lets take turnips for example, you have a level for every crop you raise, and you start at 0. As you make more turnips that level goes up, and increases your % at growing a gold crop. So after growing MANY crops you will find yourself finding better crops.

This will help me introduce more expensive furniture and fertilizers and tools and make the game items become more expensive at a balanced rate, and it feels good to get cool rare stuff Smiley

I'm most likely not going to add the both of those, just to keep it simpler for the players.

What I will be adding how ever is fertilizer, that you can purchase in town, or create if you get the tools needed in the game, which will let you grow crops, faster, better, gold % raise, etc.

Watch the top left, that is your SP, when it hits 0 you pass out and waste the entire day. You also wake up the next day later in the day, and start with lower SP.

The lower your SP the slower you work. You don't work any faster if you have more SP though.

You know, it feels great to develop something. I don't know why I would always drop projects. If I attempted making this 2 weeks ago I would have dropped it at the inventory parts I had trouble with, I'm really glad that I stuck through that tough part, and with this feeling I know i'll be ready to tough out any more tough parts that come my way. I'm proud of this little chunk of game I'm making.

It feels good to watch your game start to feel like a game.

So idk why I'm writing this, maybe some guy will feel like quitting one day and read this and change his mind.

Just realized im done with the crop system. I just have to add more crops now, which can wait. I think im going to work on animals now.

The full-night filter feels a bit overly coloring, like a fog more than a shader. Can you adjust transparency amount? Failing that, using a nearly-black color will make it seem to darken and color instead of just color. Also- the stars look NICE.

Yeah, i toned down the color filter and i think it looks a lot nicer. Check it out.

Like if you milk the cow, the cow will show hearts around it, etc.

just made the inventory cycleable with A and S instead of shift

This game is more along the lines of Harvest Moon, Farm Simulator goes into much more detail than I will be for the farming system!
