Yes, I do have three arms.

Also Willy, that's one interesting technique. Looking good with very few polygons!

Geti I like that a lot, I know that feel of working on a 3D Ludum entry.

Heres stuff I've made over the past few months cross posted from polycount.
Never mind they are too big, heres one.  Cry

I am really starting to like the look of the lo-fi 3d stuff in this thread.  That scene is gorgeous, Delko.

I like the rendering style but I think the geometry needs work. It's really really boxy at the moment, and looks like it'd be unwieldy as hell.

Thanks guys, I dumped almost all of my free time over the past year into Turbo Run, and I'm glad so many people like it. I hope I can get it finished soon.

Theres a lot of cool stuff in this thread, really inspiring to see so much low res pixel stuff.

Heres some of the other things (resized)

Hnnng Kiss
I would love to hear some more technical details (what modeler do you use, how did you do the lights in corridor), etc.

Sure, I use a combination of Wings3D and 3DsMAX for my modeling. The corridor lighting is all just diffuse texture. The whole scene is completely self illuminated, so there's no actual geometry shading going on. I used Photoshops lighting effects feature to create the actual cast light.
They were made for a Ludum Dare entry that evolved into a tech demo/experiment for Game Maker that myself and one of my Turbo Run programmers (Von Zippenstein) worked on. I'll have to email him and see if he has a stable build. It had a built in level editor so you could make all kinds of exciting hall ways.

Damnit those 2plane trees kick some serious ass. Note to self, don't bother making complicated assets if you're not gonna get close to them. A few of them would suit better rotations given how they face the track though, and need UVs flipped horizontally on one plane to avoid symmetry (which draws the eye in something nasty).

The cars are all kinds of awesome though.

1- Nintendo64-ish game with vibrant colours:  Smiley
2- High-tech modular hallway:  Shocked
3- Lo-res machine:  Kiss

Well golly, I must say I find both the theme and execution really good. Great pieces, right there!

Today's "Oh I've got a break lets make something" thing. Some dude with a cup of coffee. Trying less square limbs/body etc while keeping it boxy. Need to tweak the rigging on these kinds of humans a little to make the elbows/knees deform more nicely (can probably be done by offsetting the joint a little)

1hr in blender and photoshop. Hair looks a bit shocking from some angles, haha.

Might do a properly connected mesh next time to see if I'm better at those yet.
