That's frickin' awesome, Oracle! MOAR MOAR! Quote/Curly should be pretty easy overall - since most of their moves are gun attacks, if we get animations for firing left/right/up/down we're already halfway there! P.S. Naija's almost done, animation-wise.

It's like one of those magic eye puzzles. Once you see it, it can never be unseen.

I think it could do with being a little bit slower, personally. Also, his hand and gun should probably move up and towards him bit as his arm bends, because at the minute his arm's fluctuating in length. These are just small things, though, and are probably only worth worrying about later in the game, if at all. On the whole, it's awesome

What size should the portrait of the character be (in pixels) Is it just for the selection screen? or when they throw some sort of special attack, in the same Marvel vs Capcom style?

It's just for the character selection screen. The portraits will be 48x48 pixels: big enough that I could fill the screen with them even if there were only a few character, but small enough that I could potentially fit tons of characters on the selection screen.

GotchaŽ.
Are specials/supers planned on the engine tho? How about "Zoom out" when the players are far from each other? (samurai showdown style)

Are specials/supers planned on the engine tho? Only SSB-style specials. How about "Zoom out" when the players are far from each other? (samurai showdown style) Zooming and pixel art generally don't get along.

Brawl has a nifty little addon of specials, wich are actually quite fun, and about the zoom thingie, if done properly, i think it could work out just great, because it really gives a sense of huge space. Besides, otherwise, stages would be pretty small, and dont really offer a chance to fight out with 4 chars. Try some videos of Samurai Showdown, Savage Reign (i think) Double Dragon, on neogeo, its pretty much the way to implement the camera system on a 2D smash clone. Im just throwing out some ideas tho,

I know. There were three of them, two subtitled "melee" and "brawl", respectively. The latter had massive attacks called Final Smashes, whereas the formers' "specials" were merely an extended moveset affixed to a button separate from "normal" attacks. I'm inquiring as to whether Nightshade means to include the latters' epic attacks.
