This goose is cooked... Here is a game where you play as a bear who must fatten up to prepare for a long winter hibernation. Forage in the forest with forbearance.Download (Windows only): http://gamejolt.com/freeware/games/enviro-bear-2000/download/211/Instructions: It is very simple to play. Just grab stuff with your paw. You can toss stuff out the windows and sunroof if the car gets too cluttered. I am happy with the look and feel of everything, and with how the cockpit turned out. But I am sad that the game is fairly shallow and that I didn't add more 'stuff'. enjoy original concept for posterity: * rodent species subject to change without notice.

I laughed. Then I clicked on the thread and saw the picture and laughed more. Maybe there could be a frog helping out the squirrels too...

Been going kinda nuts programming. Lo and behold, a demo... http://dl.getdropbox.com/u/658973/Squirrel.zipArrow keys move and jump, hold space to grab onto stuff with your claws. Press Q to enable driving with WASD (because driving with the rodent is near impossible). Still loads of physics tweaking to do. And I think not being able to see out the window when pressing the gas might be a bad idea. The scale of everything is probably out of wack. And of course the gameplay and making it beautiful must be done. Oh what toil and drudgery we must endure! Is it just me, or does it seem weird to be using direct3D to draw 2D sprites to fake a 3D world (using 2D physics)?

bump from the grave... So this game has morphed into an educational game about the ecology of bears. It turns out, driving a car as a squirrel wasn't much fun. And physics engine + platformer = too hard. But bears, they're a cinch! A few random things on my to-do list: -heavier badger -quantized trees -pointless blinker -fish acquisition -fatness Also turns out, I'm getting pretty good at making bad art quickly

That looks great! Also, I never noticed the previous demo when you posted it last month. I don't know why!

did you noticed you've just won?
I could hardly play it (must be the tablet), but it was hilarious. the bear getting agitated, a badger fidgeting on the dashboard, and the music to accompany it. :D it's pure gold. I'm getting a mouse now.

This game definitely made me chuckle, I like how unique it is and how absurd the controls are, yet it all somehow works.

I knew this game was going to be pretty funny, but the whole "stuff flying around in my car" thing is awesome. A pine cone got stuck under my brake pedal, a fish fell on my gas pedal, it was hilarious.
Definitely a creative use of physics in a world full of box-stacking or tower-building games.

Oh wow, amazing. The interface is fantastic, the art is perfect, the cheesy music fits like a glove. The sounds are right there, too. Just hilarious.
