This game is beyond awesome. I really hate those Qix things, though. They always seem to be in a place where I can't get at them. But the level-changing glitchiness is perfect. Except for one glitch where I ended up with no enemies to kill: The level wouldn't advance for some reason. It's only happened once though.

Yes. If he were a gentleman, he would merely splutter and pop his monocle. However, he is uncouth and so shouts about games taking shits in his eyes, or something.

If he wore a monocle, he could avoid that problem! Or at least half of it.

You're talking about people who comment on Kotaku... most of them are complete and utter idiots who just go about looking for something to type about in ALL CAPS!!!

Rom Check Fail is a title coming from the indie sphere of game development, much like the revered Cave Story. Actually I think it's pretty awesome that Kotaku picked this up. it deserves a wide audience.

You mean, besides it not being accurate?

You mean, besides it not being accurate? Extremely fast gameplay that involves reevaluating your situation every couple of seconds? The amount of sense it makes being directly proportional to the depth of your past gaming experience? So they are in the same "style" as far as I'm concerned, yes.

... Why the installer? Seems like you would be able to execute the game without fiddling with the registry, but maybe I'm just being oversensitive.
Other than that, this is pure unfiltered awesome. You, sir, win one free internet.

The installer is for noobs who can't understand zip files. There are more of them than you think I don't need to hit the system registry, but I ended up storing the highscore there just for fun. If you want to hax your highscore that's the place to do it.
