HEY! Is that vitiligo on the hand?
No, it's light filtering through from the trees above. I could probably make them a bit brighter maybe.

Trying out slightly higher-res spritework (x2 zoom). I'm personally much more satisfied with this resolution than the older resolution.
For a platformer with MMBN and Odin Sphere elements.

This looks nice. The only thing I would recommend would be to add more contrast to the colors.

Then there shouldn't have shadow under the hand! Shadow should be where the light from the canopy don't hit. Use the shadow under as the color and keep the light from the leaves.

It's hard to see the faces because of the details on their bodies. Perhaps tone those down a little?

@beetleking - Wow, nice.
@Cellusious - I like those characters. Nice, interesting color choices.
@Rakugaki - Nice lighting on that heart. Looks interesting.
@failnaut - Kinda spooky. You might want to focus on and really emphasize the dark lighting (not necessarily darker colors, but rather more of a stark coverage of light).

The road doesn't seem to flow well with the hills. It almost appears to be floating on top of the grass layer. Perspective seems to be an issue, but try to mind the shape of the road as well.
I must say that it's quite a romantic piece. Although it's lacking some content and it's a bit too symmetrical for my tastes, I really like what you're going for. Good stuff.
