I made a little demo to demonstrate camera scaling (and the Outer Wall, too). Let me know what you think. Here it is.Right there, it's in the Outer Wall thread

Seems like stuff is a little scattered right now. Nightshade, how many characters have you got incorporated into the central source? If you like, I can combine some stuff together. I could get together the five characters, the Outer Wall stage, the menu and the hit sprites system.

I'm working pretty heavily on the CPB competition, but I've already come pretty far in combining the game's elements. I'll get something out this weekend.

I think it's partly due to the Commonplace Compo. At least, that's why I'm not doing anything right now.

That's what I figure. I say, once CPC is done, and some games have been played, we rejuvinate this here section. Get people's attention again.

Nice to see Indie Brawl again! (I did a couple mockups in the old thread HERE) Pardon me if I'm not putting this in the right place -- there are several IB threads. I am of the type that would like to see everything in its original pixel form, but I think it has been decided to do redraws? I figure that's easiest and it has its advantages. Aside from that, being that it is a sort of homage to independent gaming, I think a design blog would be awesome. People talking about how all the different characters work in their original games, designing them into something new, deconstructing animations, discussing how to remake great characters, actions, moves, bullets.. There's alot there. A design progress & process log could be a great resource for game makers and fans, and good publicity. That's a whole 'nother sack of worms but I thought I'd bring it up. Also, it might help bring things together into one place.

I am of the type that would like to see everything in its original pixel form, but I think it has been decided to do redraws? I figure that's easiest and it has its advantages. It keeps everything in a consistent style, which makes it look slicker and more professional. Besides, some characters would be nearly impossible to keep in their original styles (Turner, for example). Aside from that, being that it is a sort of homage to independent gaming, I think a design blog would be awesome. People talking about how all the different characters work in their original games, designing them into something new, deconstructing animations, discussing how to remake great characters, actions, moves, bullets.. Not a bad idea. We do already have a wiki to keep everything organized, though.

Certainly not!
In fact, I'm releasing a new version today. Chutup, I believe, is coding the Dwarf.
Anyone interested in making animations for the Golden Knight or Dwarf simply needs to post in their respective threads.

I've given the Indie Brawl-related threads all a much-needed facelift. Hopefully, that will make the project more accessable and encourage more contributions.
Also, expect a new release in about a week.

First Things First: Touhou Characters! NOW! In case you don't know: http://touhou.wikia.com/wiki/Touhou_WikiAnd the first character choices: Hakurei Reimu & Kirisame Marisa(surnames come first in japanese) P.S. Doujin is virtually similar to Indie. And creator ZUN has made at least 11 entries to this day. By himself. Since '96. Music, story, characters included. There's your predecessor to Pixel, Daniel Remar, and Derek Yu.

Yeah, we know what Tohou is If you have any suggestions of how to implement a shmup character in a fighting game, we'd be happy to hear them.
