I am tired of compos that seem dominated by solo entries. I would enjoy being part of a team. I can code in Python or C++ (rusty) but will learn anything that's not too complicated, can do very basic 3D modelling and texturing, and can write music (sort of poorly).
I too can code in python (barely) and would be willing to team up with someone more experienced in the language. It'd be a great learning experience, and I'd finally finish a game. Btw, when I say barely, I really mean barely.

After getting a tweet about this compo, it has piqued my interest. I'm not usually into compos, but I've got plenty of free time so I may be in on this one. Great themes. ^_^

YES. I must make something for this compo. Possibly something artsy.
And BTW, are the themes open for interpretation?

Combining the two themes will be a challenge, but a really cool one. Good luck to all

"soon to be banned in germany and australia" classic :D
about adult themes... i thought in the usa any form of nudity in videogames and tv is not allowed whereas in germany the violence in games and movies is not very welcome.
dont know the situation in australia.

drew a concept doodle for a legend of zelda parody i might make this. might not You approach the Master ... Sword(?) ... but decide you'd rather just keep the one you have. If you are against actually teaching people real things, you can always teach them complete falsehoods a la "Look Around You". In the US, you can have an M rated game with topless women, with nipples, but you can't show either sex's no-no bits.

Videogames can have some nudity in the USA, but it's generally not very accepted, and too much and the game gets rated AO, causing it not to be sold at retailers. It's not allowed on TV except on stations like HBO.

It's not allowed on TV except on stations like HBO. That's why they got rid of the castration attack in Manhunt 2. You were originally going to be able to "fix" your enemy with hedge clippers, but the developers heard that that would give them an AO rating, so they toned it down. I'm REALLY hoping that there are more educational games than adult games....I don't want to see any "Custer's Revenge" style things floating around...

Woo! I was thinking of making a rape-themed game just a few days ago. Now I have a reason to make it. And it will be so educational.

Someone said in the contest topic thread that it would be scary to see a dating sim made by Cactus. This may be worse. Also, crap. I wanted (past tense) to enter the next contest, but I'm not entirely sure that I want (present tense) to enter this particular one.

A game about sexual education through incest. Sounds interesting, no?
Or maybe we can hope for Sexy Adventures 6?
I would like to enter this one, but I can't really tell if I'm going to. Motivational problems seem persistent.

Of course, even if your game "isn't sold at retailers", you can always sell it in different ways. Mail order over the net, direct download...some indie games do that anyway, right? That's the whole point behind Peach Princess (NSFW but there's a warning page). They translate Japanese adult games and sell them to English-speaking customers. My point is, there really don't seem to be any actual laws preventing it (as long as you make sure not to sell to underage customers, that would be bad). I've thought it would be nice if Steam had an adult games division. They could call it "Sauna"...

Thank God all you people are thinking of these *horrid* blood-chilling ideas. I was getting worried that my own disturbing project would stand out.
Now I'll just be one of the masses. Thanks guys! :D

Well that made me laugh out loud. :D This is an interesting subject. I don't want to do something hasty for it, nor something explicit. I'll have to put thought into it. My entry might turn into a form of criticism of society in one way or another, mostly focused on internet culture.
