Hey, two players stuck together with a chain sounds like a great idea in several games. Imagine a platformer with two players timing their jumps. Imagine super meat boy! it wasn't challenging enough anyway.
Would lead to a greater homicide rate than Mario Kart and Mario Party combined.

What if it was a train with horizontal and vertical train cars that defy gravity and run on different tracks connected through interdimensional portals and what if this is the stupidest thing you've ever read? :3

what if the trains crashed into each other, and then time froze when that happened, and you had to platform through the wreckage? oh wait prince of persia did that already, without the trains of course. stupid prince of persia. who are you anyway?

I like the trains idea since it means whole segments of the map could be swapped in/out by connecting/disconnecting train cars.
Imagine Portal with train cars in a Metroidvania spinoff of Train Simulator like Symphony of the Night except the twist is your own doing by the power of a super decoupling train car gun.

Multiplayer Shadow of the Colossus. Two people climbing the Colossus while there's a small arrow squad on the ground raining fire. One guy working the torso while trying to avoid friendly fire while the other's keeping his balance while trying to run along it's back to get to it's temples.

Multiplayer first person perspective game where players looking at an object from different perspective causes it to change/morph in order to look the same to all viewers. Players would have to stand in certian locations for the object to morph correctly to proceed. Possibly one player would have to look away from the object to avoid messing it up ..
Somewhat inspired by the dead enemies in Doom which looked to be the same straight-on angle to multiple viewers despite this being impossible.

But then you have the problem of everyone looking away while one person looks in the right perspective for the rest. You might need to figure this out a bit first.

Actually, you just gave me an idea:
A five-person multi-PC game where each person controls a separate part of the giant robot. Two arms, two legs, and I'll form the head. The head determines what each person can see, and the limbs do the giant monster combat. Kinda like Artemis meets Octodad in terms of gameplay, with the setting of Voltron.

sounds difficult. it's like power rangers. maybe the robot can be separate pieces, then combines.
